Plugin to make hihat sound lower in drum loops?

Hey, I tried to lowering the volume of hihat in drum loop sample without affecting the snare sound. What kind of plugin do you usually use for that? Tried multiband transient with little success but perhaps maybe there's better solution?

The best solution would be to slice the sample and just lower the hihat hits where possible.

Might be helpful. Let us know how it performs.

Damn, sounds good.. Had better result than multiband transient. But that price though.. In fact it's their most expensive pluginsUnaspected wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:12 pm https://fuseaudiolabs.de/#/pages/product?id=300867907

Edit : actually it's not that good, tried with different drum loop, the kick suddenly lose the bottom and power, like some phase issue perhaps?

They should have another sale around the end of the year. There were two almost back to back recently. I won't tell you how cheap it was though, hopefully it will become more affordable soon.eluherlu wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:37 pmDamn, sounds good.. Had better result than multiband transient. I've not used this one as I don't work with loops but will check it out for creative potential at some point. Taste in hi-hat level seems to vary quite radically - and especially across genres - so I imagine you'd find plenty of use with loop based production.
Ah. Scratch that then.eluherlu wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:37 pm Edit : actually it's not that good, tried with different drum loop, the kick suddenly lose the bottom and power, like some phase issue perhaps?
Though, maybe you could use it to isolate just the hi-hats on a separate channel, invert and then sum to remove them from the main loop and then mix the isolated back in without the inversion.

Did you tried with a de-esser and a dynamic eq? Give also DSEQ from TBProAudio a try

As soon as I read this, joking or not, I immediately don’t want to help.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

The isolated hihat/cymbals sound also have too much snare bleed. I remember tried Accusonus Regroover and have better result. But Accusonus seems like discontinued?Unaspected wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:50 pmThey should have another sale around the end of the year. There were two almost back to back recently. Yeah. Some of their software was "released" online for previous owners but I don't think that included Regroover.eluherlu wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:32 pm The isolated hihat/cymbals sound also have too much snare bleed. With all the time searching, you'll end up wishing you just sliced the things up.
If you do have an isolated hat slice then you could try noise removal and do the same inversion trick but using the rest of the loop to reveal the hats. Though you might still end up with bleed if the snare is occupying similar frequencies - might be more likely if these are electronic drums that are using filtered noise as part of the sound.

Actually I tried to slice the sample. But some hihat were in beat with kick and snare and it ends up even more weird hihat volume dynamics. Now if I do surgical eq to each kick/snare that played with hihat in the same time, that would be unnecessary job lol. The best I have is to roll of some of the high end of the drum loops then layer it with some snare soundUnaspected wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:41 pmYeah. Or use it as a beat map and recreate the loop with your own sounds.eluherlu wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:55 pmActually I tried to slice the sample. Regroover is/was great. An alternative would be Melodyne Editor.
