Looking for raw percussion samples

I posted a thread in instruments, but believe that was the wrong place now that I see this forum, so apologies.
As the title suggests, I’m looking for raw, unprocessed percussion samples of high quality. I have the rock pack of addictive drums that came bundled with some Focusrite hardware- curious if those are unprocessed (when all effects are turned off in the VST- is the original sample still raw)? It also doesn’t contain much, so confirming before I purchase more packs, potentially.
Also open to other good sources; thanks!

Right place... but do you need the raw samples as WAV files, or would you be OK with a drum instrument that works inside specific software, and needs to be mixed etc. within that?

Hi there! It could be either, really. I’d think a drum instrument could be more convenient just for speed, but if the quality is the same as a sample library and the latter is much less, I’d probably go with that.DSmolken wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:52 pm Right place... but do you need the raw samples as WAV files, or would you be OK with a drum instrument that works inside specific software, and needs to be mixed etc. within that?

OK, so you want to avoid heavily processed "mix-ready" stuff like the GetGood kits or MT Powerkit 2, and probably also stuff recorded through vintage gear to give it a strong and specific coloration (like the Drumdrops Motown drums). But there are still plenty of choices, from the free (SM Drums, Virtuosity Drums) to the fancy (for example Soniccouture Moonkits and Sunkits, probably also quite a few Superior Drummer SDXs). What sort of style are you going to use these for?

Thanks, I’ll look into some of those for now. I’m mostly interested in some jazz productions, but I’m also interested in mangling some sounds from scratch just to truly get an idea as to the process and to help develop my ear to some processed sounds and how they’re produced.DSmolken wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 12:06 pm OK, so you want to avoid heavily processed "mix-ready" stuff like the GetGood kits or MT Powerkit 2, and probably also stuff recorded through vintage gear to give it a strong and specific coloration (like the Drumdrops Motown drums).
