The perfect IR/Cab loader does not exist yet. Idea/concept for a new better end all IR loader

IR cab loader plugin concept:
Still, the perfect IR loading plugin doesn’t exist for me yet, and I know im not the only one who has thousands of IR files which barely get used or even the time of day to be tried and played through. Lots of IR makers spend the time and effort to give you all the possible mic/cab positions they can, why not give the end user that same experience to be able to at least try and audition them in a quicker easier organized fashion.
The concept is based on the recent new ampsim, Audiosingularity Neurontube, its cab/IR section. Currently free but full of bugs though, its a great high quality Soldano SLO 100 emulation and also has another great modeled Laney TF 300 combo amp in the plugin too, the goal of the plugin is to give you accurate edge of breakup cleanish drive tones. Anyway, i’m fond of the plugin’s cab/IR section GUI layout and one click selection.
This graphical concept for the cab would be an awesome stand alone idea/concept for an IR loader plugin. Load your IRs into one click buttons corresponding to the IRs position and or distance for each cab. Then offer the ability to load up multiple panes you can click/scroll through for each cab you want loaded up with IRs, like a cab room with each cab already mic up with multiple mics. Make it modular and customizable with cab rig presets and make everything one click after you have everything loaded and setup. I don’t want any double clicks, dragging of IR files, browsing through folder/directory structures; your going to have a guitar in your hand/arms/lap so make it one click. I would love some sort of auto and randomizing load function like maybe a “smart load” that go to corresponding cab and distance positions based on file name or file/preset tags. Imagine finding IR combos or a mic you never thought of using. Include known combinations of cabs and mics/positions that are known to work for certain styles/genres (ie Fredman style or like SM57/Royer combos) and let the user also add defined search queries/tags . With all this AI in plugins now, I can’t believe no one had thought or tried this yet, and I’m sure it’s possible with today’s tech. Make the gui modular and customizable for all the different ways you could search/browse, load and select, one click/double click/right left click/mouse wheel, drag/drop etc. Ability for vst/plugin hosting within the plugin and auditioning file import and or track audio sampler. Auto play audition, where the user chooses some IRs or preset combos, where the duration of played audio can be set and it will play through all the IRs/presets you have in your list.
I’m sure some of you have some awesome ideas as well to make IR browsing/selection/use an easier less cumbersome and creative process when you have thousands of IRs across multiple libraries from different companies.
Thoughts?

Fairmageddon is pretty close imo, sadly a bit buggy for me. But I see what you mean, it would be cool to be able to select cab X with speaker Y and then have only different mic positions to choose from. And then click through different mics.
The crux is there's no naming conventions so there's no way any software can organize them for you. But it is amazing that there's no user tagging and stuff available in any software. Fairmageddon is the only one I know that has color codes and stuff, that's a start.

I’m thinking a combination between a one click IR select/navigational gui (Neurontube cab section), mixed with something like Softube Amp room or TH-U, and add a file browse/load system like Nembrini’s IR loader or Ignite Nadir on the back end, but between the front end GUI and back end data base you have something like Melda’s system where you can tweak and re-arrange elements s of the gui in a modular user defined way for layout, colors, graphics, user imported images etc.
The right dev or right dev collaboration could really make something amazing for the world of IRs, for begginers to advanced. I just want to not have to browse through file/folder directory structure lists while trying to remember where certain IR are, when i want to quickly audition some tones. One of those things where you take some time to set it up and can add to it as you go, but then you have the easy to use and navigate main GUI panel when you want to quickly use and audition IRs. It’s equivalent to certain synths and sampler type plugins like Arturia , that have a back panel for setup and fine tune details, then a main page front panel with all your easy one click graphical elements that let you quickly adjust and select and preview things. I know it can be done, as other types of fx and synth plugins can do similar things already.

I'm not sure this is a better workflow than MCabinet, which learns an average "flattened" profile of resonances from whatever pile of IRs you feed it and then lets you reshape further with EQ. I find it quite productive.

Damn, is that what it does? I was trying to figure it out. I'll have to try that. Melda stuff is just so crazy deep and versatile.imrae wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2022 5:56 pm I'm not sure this is a better workflow than MCabinet, which learns an average "flattened" profile of resonances from whatever pile of IRs you feed it and then lets you reshape further with EQ. I only just realized recently that their convolver lets you create impulse responses from your DAW's signal chain. Now when I have a cool signal chain or cab in some other vst I usually rip it to MConvolutionMB just to have it on tap.

any CabIR has to include ms delay and panning etc
