Got in to download it as soon as I saw the announcement hit my inbox. Then proceeded to the Analog Lab V update, which quickly crawled to a halt as everyone else noticed.

Wow free upgrade again. Thx arturia. I would buy presets instead(someday when sale) .

The new drag and drop modulation system is really nice. That's just a really nice workflow improvement. Borrows a bit from Vital and even Hive.

The light theme is too low contrast IMO. The knobs should've remained dark and they should've used darker text. Also, the top header remains dark, which just looks awkward. Maybe they'll improve that in the future.

Haven't dug into the other changes/additions yet but so far so good. Arturia is really knocking it out of the park these days. So kudos to them. I was never a fan, but the last 3 or so years have completely changed my opinion on Arturia as it's been one great release after another.

The VCAs and envelopes were improved to reduce clicks. If you happened to take advantage of those, I suppose they could sound different. Also it says "reworked Bitcrusher effect" so if you were really using the old one, that could be another area where patches sound a bit different. If you're worried about old projects, then as always, get in the habit of rendering your stems to audio. Otherwise, things might sound a teensy bit different unless there's a "legacy mode" built in behind the scenes to keep existing patches the same. I say, just live with it. It's only rock and roll (or EDM or whatever).

I got in just in time. Glad I was off work today and lurking on KVR.

If that's the biggest knock against a new Arturia release, they're definitely doing something right. (Except in their CDN of course.)

An excellent and generous update, as we are used to with Arturia. Very appreciable of them. So glad that my feature request for a global FX disable button was considered.

I've done the same. It's nice to show a bit of gratitude when you get a decent update for free.

Nice update. I always thought the mod system was cool but could use some tweaks to improve it. This looks like they brushed it up nicely.

Seems a demo is available but no update yet in the Arturia center right?

I just downloaded it.

Thanks to Arturia for the free update. :tu:

I ran a quick test on one of my more demanding patches and it appears there is about a 10-15 percent decrease in CPU demand so that's a good thing.

If you guys want to test then try a patch with the old version, note the CPU numbers then install the new version and run the test again.

Would be interesting to see if others get similar results. CPU demand has been Pigment's Achilles heel for me.

I just downloaded and installed on two systems so the update is in the ASC, here at least. You may need to update the ASC itself first.

A small nitpick about the GUI: The FX and Sequencer disable buttons are placed too close to the tab text IMO. I observed some inconsistency in disable button placements at some other places too, so would be good if these could be ironed out.

Just in case anyone from Arturia is around...

Very nice. Thanks Arturia. :hail:

Now - if you could just get the person who did note off velocity for Matrix 12V and Synclavier V to add it to Pigments, it would be just about perfect.

I know, I know - ungrateful wretches. :hihi:

Does Pigments 4 sound any better than 3? I tried 3, and it sounds bland to me, just like the Hydrasynth.

This is fabulous. Love the new drag and drop mods, and the preset and variable waveforms in the LFOs. So fast to work with now.
