Hello everyone.
I finished voting. This time I am not competent enough to give any coments. Sounds like you all could cooperate to set up a classic radio station with these tracks.

Voted. OMG, so many great tracks. This was SOOOOO hard. Who knew we had so many great orchestrators here.
Here's the group I gave scores of 5 to.
Aaron Jasinski (of course)
Richard Semper (another of course)
Dorgan
JemAudio
The Never Scene
Frank Geppert
The Ted Mountaine Orchestra
It's been a long time since I've been here. Maybe I should come by more often to vote if this is how good you guys have gotten.

Wag? Wow, that's been a while. Any plans on giving it another go or just visiting?

Depends on what synth is featured. My patience with things that constantly crash wears thin as I get older. But I am keeping an open mind.Taron wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 12:46 pm Wag? Wow, that's been a while. Any plans on giving it another go or just visiting?

I hear ya', yes, I tend to skip those, too. Well, fingers crossed next year will bring some more solid gems around.wagtunes wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 1:47 pmDepends on what synth is featured. Heck, yeah. That would be awesome.Taron wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 11:27 am Oh, that's very sweet! ResonHeart sounds like some proper fun. Very kind of them!![]()
From the demos they've got on their site this would make a proper OSC synth, too. Maybe one day this could be something they might consider with some OSC ready demo of sorts?![]()

Since I didn't follow the rules I guess my piece is not in the competition anymore and that's only fair. To participate was an act on impulse. I started to vote but now I can't sign in to www.onesynthchallenge.org (http://www.onesynthchallenge.org) anymore. I'm very impressed with many of the pieces, some of you know a lot about harmony and orchestration.

I learned a lot from this round. The sharply limited sound palette sent people into one of two possible directions. Many used the sounds as provided with minimal manipulation, forcing them to concentrate on composition, with spectacular results in most cases. Others used their sound design skills to push the provided samples to the limits allowed by the contest (and sometimes beyond
), I mean, pipe organ from woodwinds?? Wow!
I found this to be a great demonstration of the old saying 'necessity is the mother of invention', and maybe suggests that too many options can sometimes stifle creativity.

I'm no classical expert but I think marks-a-whybikky will win.

Hey Olof, I'm sorry about this, because your entry was fantastic, actually, but there are some holy rules here that just must never be scratched.Olof_E wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:44 pm Since I didn't follow the rules I guess my piece is not in the competition anymore and that's only fair. There are some creative rules that may get bent a little, such as the use of distortion or reverbs that modulate a bit (Valhalla Supermassive) and even the odd convolution (Boogex), all in the realm of creative filtering, but all of it has to come within the given timeframe and never suggest to have broken it. Think of it as a race, where nobody has a running start with their track.
But all of this aside, again, you've done such a great piece and I dearly hope this won't scare you off. It would be wonderful to see you participate here again and again!

I voted. Since the initial sound level was set, and since I didn't participate, and also because you're all great musicians, I only used 4 and 5, so my voice won't affect the result much)

Voted - and commented on all songs. I was amazed how good everyone was. Lovely to hear people expressing themselves in another medium. Some really shined - unexpectedly.
