Yeah, I like it for that too! I just find that it sounds quite a bit different than Blofeld, so I'm surprised that it's (supposedly) based on the same code.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 6:35 pm I quite liked the harsh cold metallic Largo sounds tbh, got loads of other warm analog things.

I guess it’s like Roland Cloud soft synths being based on the same ACB engine, but their Juno 60 plugin sounds different to their Jupiter 8.

Went in on a Bela Gliss. I'm not sure I need another controller, but it seems quite cool and cheaper than most.

I have been thinking that not including CV recording on the Molten Modular Motion Meter is a wee bit of a missed opportunity, I'd probably have bought a couple of them by now if it did.foosnark wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 3:29 am Went in on a Bela Gliss. I think that this is the first demo of the Pro-800 / original 600 on YT which makes me even a lil bit interested. Others were showing either sounds suited more for Prog-Rock etc. or simply sounded mediocre at best.
My personal pluses: sound is nice (nothing mind-blowing tbh)
My personal minuses: why oh why doesn't it have stereo output? Missed opportunity. Also those crappy buttons. Will they survive more than a year?

I guess they followed the original schematics - original one had mono out (as does Prophet 5 even the new one) and those crappy buttons.
The news that everything seems to be MIDI CC'able is a big tick though.

Not planning to buy this... I think?

I can get roughly similar sounds running Akemie's Castle through Strega... but I like that Mystic's FM is much dirtier, in a good way.
I could sell off the AC (for more than this costs) and get 38HP of rack space for other stuff (e.g. the Pod60 I'm using for overflow). On the other hand, it's another separate box to find a home for... but it's small. I'd miss AC's chord mode, dual voices, different waveshape parameters, feedback etc. but that grittiness is just really nice...
Apparently doesn't track V/OCT but that's OK for me (I can sequence with 0-Ctrl or just drone or go off-grid like usual). The internal modulation is pretty limited but not a problem thanks to CV inputs.
Hmmmmm.
Every time I think about selling Akemie's Castle I fire it up, patch it and fall in love with it all over again. I'll have to try that after work and compare to the demos of this thing.

Same here. I've been 'not planning' for several days, while watching everything available, and figuring out how many hp it would take up when mounted to a panel (looks like about 38-ish hp), and what I would mount (jacks/switches, etc) in the space above it to best utilize that space. I love the 'happy-accident' (sweet-spot) aspect of these kinds of things. Like Eowave Weather Drones... which I frequently 'think' about picking-up a second one.

I think I have to keep Akemie's Castle. Trying to imitate Mystic wasn't all that successful, but my second patch with it just now was gorgeous in its own right.
Maybe if I had a WMD PDO that'd do it for me -- maybe -- but those are unobtanium.
But, there's a Christmas bonus coming on my next paycheck. I'll see how that goes.

where I work those are unobtanium.
I think I’ve reached a fairly happy place where there’s nothing I desperately need so now I just have a daily flick through eBay and Reverb in case there’s a bargain.
Whisper it quietly, but I did pick up a Disting Mk 4. And, find it’s kind of handy.

They're pretty random here. Some years a random gift of varying desirability, rarely a bonus, some years nothing. It doesn't seem to be connected to company performance or anything.

I’ve only ever worked for one company that gave out decent annual bonuses, but it was a hell hole of Peter principled posh boys and bullies. IT at a council doesn’t have many perks, but there is a refreshing lack of gits.
