I think they should (also) include the PDF in their installation file(s). But ok, I've seen worse...

Videos, videos, and videos. And videos. And, on top of that, videos. Yeah, gimme more videos about this and that and this, and less info on the things I'm looking for.

It's not written in the manual either, by the way, which of the 2 models of the MS-20 V the filter in Pigments is.

Very cool — FWIW on my machine your Contemplate Tek patch registered a whopping 75-78% of CPU according to Pigments meter at bottom right

reducing to one single engine a simple analog SINE kept the sequence playing and brought CPU down to about 10 to 15% +/- FX didn't make nearly so much difference

not 100% sure if they're new with 4.0 but the CURVE (att/dec) Envelope parameters are cool

It's funny I don't use the Harmonic Engine OSCs as much as I ought to because they make Pigments quite a lot more interesting and unique. Not sure why your use of them was so intense. When I start from scratch they are not nearly as CPU hungry

It's not about whether we use presets or not, it's how the patch was made. Try this patch:

Contemplate Tek.zip

It can be quite demanding due to the Harmonic engine

I like what they've done with the additive section - you can set the amount of partials and then set a maximum rather than picking from a pre-selected number of partials.

Clearly searching for the synth you want the manual for will get you there quicker than scrolling through their whole synth library . You can also get there from within the synth selecting Help->User Manual. They tried to make it easy.

Obviously that's not much help if you're not on your music computer, and don't have the synth open.

Websites like the one from NI have the manual under "Manuals" for the product. On Arturia's site, you either have to scroll through a lot of videos (on the "Ressources" page for the Pigments product), or go via Support -> Downloads & Manuals -> Start a search through your web browser, and find "Pigments".

Should we discuss whether or not that's a pain in the ass or accept that some websites simply make that easier?

That new ring mod added
in the Wavetable engine is pretty neat & fun to mess with, quite a nice new feature that seems a bit overlooked so far. Check it out it sounds great :D

The new light look resembles Massive X in a way. Was that intentional???

I'm afraid to buy this because of possible future paid updates.
The fact that it’s now called Pigments, and not Pigments 4 (like its predecessor was called Pigments 3) may hint at free-updates-for-the-foreseeable-future :)

Id love to see Arturia release the Polybrute in VST format , now that they’ve shown it can be done with the Minifreak. I had two in the past few years, but with both, the VCOs went bad in them and had to get rid of them as the refused to tune properly.

Yes there is. In the Explore Preset window, click on the 2 crossing arrows at the right, under the #presets, it will random and shuffle the preset list. Have fun exploring from there!

@Teksonik: Also tested your patch (nice one!) and it goes up to 44% in vital CPU meter, that's really a lot on my desktop machine. Wouldn't run on my laptop. If I reduce the polyphony to 4 and the number of partials to 256, it makes hardly an audible difference and it goes down to 18%. Looks like a linear progression of how much sound elements / partials Pigment needs to handle at the same time and how it affects the CPU. With that patch and the harmonic engine, polyphony getting maxed out due to long AMP Env release - you're in the thousands.

Wow, I've been using it since release and didn't know about it. A new toy for me
