I just love that piece of music itself and since David Rose who had made all of the music on Little house never made a recording of it, as one friend of mine had told me "half a loaf is better than none".

That piece of music was played on 2 episodes at different times in the shows so I recorded all clips of it totaling close to 3 minutes. When I should get the chance I will first need to remove all unwanted parts of the recordings then merge all pieces together then with the one file will see about removing the non-musical background from it.

I made a mistake though as was mentioned here, I should have saved it as wav first but....

Agreed, I think he would have had a lot of success with this instrumental piece. What I noticed was that he had changed up the music a little in the different sets which is why I had to record all pieces of it.

I am looking into paying someone to remove the unwanted background for me whenever I should be able to afford it as I am seeing some production guys on Fiverr offering gigs for this type of work. Whenever I should get it done I will post a copy of it on Soundcloud and post the link here.

Spectral editor would be most surgical. What does it get used for after it's all "cleaned" up?

Add it to my playlist of favs from the 70s. I have a slideshow of pics from those days and play the music from that era in the background so just for memories/nostalgic reasons to remind me of people and places from my childhood.

Send me a DM with a link to the files and I'll take a pass at them and see what I can do. You don't even need to stitch them together or trim the ends. Are you OK with cross-fades between the disconnected parts? I can't promise super quick turn-around but would anticipate results by first week of January (at the latest). Consider it a Christmas gift.

What you gave me was recorded from two different episodes? Sounds like there is one main composition that appears and reappears and then a secondary one that only shows up once near the end. I'm amazed that was never recorded anywhere else. Do you know the title of the song?

Yes, from 2 different episodes and at different times during the episodes. When I started recording from the first episode, I paused the recording in audacity then unpaused when the music started again later on in the show and so on. So it was only one file which was saved as mp3 containing the different parts in the show when the music was playing.

Before any spectral editing, there may be a path that involves quantizing the 5 slices of the primary composition that you provided, and then mixing and matching the best parts of each slice to cobble together a least noisy version of the song. Would work if the show's producers used the same recorded loop in all those scenes. I suspect they might have. Will be really obvious once I line the slices up with each other in a grid.

You got some good samples of the noise floor

so that will be easy to address.

ooooh! That gives me an idea! With two different recordings of the same piece of music, put one at the left & the other at the right channel. Align them up sample-accurate, cross fingers the time drift because of tape speed difference is not too bad.

Convert this LeftRight track to MidSide. Now the mid is music only and side channel contains the foley & voice rubbish.

NB: if speed does drift, then you can still attempt to do this procedure in smaller sections, or adjust speed first.

Well guys, not all pieces were the same exact music, there are slightly different variations of it, this is why I recorded all pieces.

I could be wrong, and will only know once I get them in a grid, but felt like the variations fell before the main body of the tune and that the body was the same. Someone put like 10 mashups of LHOTP music up on YouTube and I scanned through them but didn't find this exact song anywhere. I was hoping to cheat.

Yes, I can agree that the body pretty much sounds the same in all clips. I too will only be able to tell more once all clips are lined up continuously into one flowing musical piece. Far as I can remember, it might be only one or two instruments in one or more clips which sound different or playing at different notes maybe.

Oh btw, no absolute need to have the different clips lineup like a Mashup or beatmatched, you can simply crossfade [overlap] each clip into each other to make things easier for you. It's for my listening pleasure only when going down memory lane, not for anyone else here.
