How can this sweep/downer sound be replicated? (without the reverb bass)

Attach an mp3 here instead of externally could help... (full editor, attachments, add file, inline)
Or a yt link with time stamp reference.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Oh crikey, you cannot attach .mp3 :tantrum:
I'll host it myself then

I hear it's made up from several notes, all being pitched down. So it's like a chord, 2 or 3 notes. I'm too lazy now to dysect the intervals, putting your hand random on the keyboard might do the trick. My bet is on simple saw oscillators. For the pitching down, assign an envelope generator to modulate pitch (duuuh)

Thanks Bert. I found this out, too, so your guideline must be right, but I can't shape the sound to my satisfaction yet when it comes to the further details. There's something in the details I haven't put in there yet or I got some settings wrong (?).
I have already created several versions. Let me attach my 2 best versions in an mp3 file here.

In version 1 I used 2 supersaws with 9 voices, detuned/spread out by 7 %. They are 7 semitones apart.

In version 2 I used 10 voices detuned by 14 %, added a chorus and somewhat different settings for the highpass filter sweep which also sweeps down I think.

Both versions start on that very high note E or E flat and they fall in pitch with time on a specific curve. On both versions I included some heavy EQing after applying some highpass filters.

Still it's just not the same sound I get there so I wonder how others would shape this sound and maybe even get somewhat closer...

Could it be that everybody except the both of us is on Xmas holidays already? :D

I wouldn't care if it wasn't for something INTERESTING I can still hear in the sound that I haven't managed to capture yet.
