I wouldn't say that. NI had some great freebies in the past, for example, even better than this, but, this is very nice as well, of course.

Actually, seems like one of the more useful of these filter plugins. I'm sure it works well to spice and warm things up a bit.

If this is exactly the same as the filter in the Korg MS-20V and Pigments 4, then it is indeed a very fine gift!

Yeah, NI of the (very distant) past - no longer though, unfortunately.

They had Trash 2 for Christmas 2021, they had Raum in 2019, and before that, they had the likes of Replika, Phasis, Dirt etc. Quite a bit more elaborate than a simple filter plugin.

But, let's not argue, but be happy what Arturia released for free here.

Well, I agree. It's still a simple filter though. Not by any stretch something I wouldn't see given away from another company, as you said.

No worries, maybe I'm just too pedantic about the statement. Just saying that there have been nice freebies elsewhere as well. This is a nice freebie as well, of course. And, I'm also a bit surprised that they give it away, but, it's probably a different usage scenario than using it onboard on a synth. I'm sure it works great as a saturator, for example.

Well I was considering writing to their support to ask for this very thing - the Korg filter to be made into its own plugin. But they beat me to it. I certainly wasn't expecting to get it for free. I would've happily paid for it.

Yes, no worries indeed.

NI have given equally good gifts in the past, though as I alluded to earlier, that was in the past, and they now seem to be a declining developer, whereas Arturia are, in my opinion, very much in the ascendancy. I know NI have given away one of their vanilla Kontakt instruments this time, but I don't think I'm even going to bother with that. This however is another thing entirely. I will get a great deal of use out of this.

Indeed. I recently got the superb Rev PLATE-140 and Tape MELLO-FI for free!
