VST3 U-He doesn't work, AU works just fine and VST2 as well. One big advantage Reaper, DP, and Live have is that they support all three Mac OS plug in formats, with reaper now supporting CLAP. Unless I'm working with someone who only uses one plug in format I mix and match at will.sQeetz wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:53 amWhen possible I prefer to install only the AU version of any given plugin. And I have no problem in either Live, Renoise, Logic. The lack of AU support is one of the main reasons for me ditching Bitwig.machinesworking wrote: Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:10 am
To be fair, DP and other DAWs like Live will occasionally block or not work with certain VST3's (U-He with DP etc.), so it's a more or less universal glitch in these plug in evaluation routines DAWs use.
But u-he's stuff not working at all would be a reason to ditch DP for me, too
I agree, the big disadvantage of Bitwig is their VST only adherence on Mac OS, they have good success with it, but it's not a secret that VST3 hosting for anyone outside of Cubase/Nuendo is problematic, to this day VST3 is the most likely format to crash or fail validation on any DAW here that supports it. I think it's no mystery why Bitwig are huge CLAP proponents.
