I received it "free" when I bought the Beat Lab sample pack. It's intro price good (30 GBP), but maybe not the full price (50 GBP) good. Worth a demo, at least!

Old Lexicons were all about modulation within the delay lines. I can’t imagine an IR based reverb is going to deliver anything like a PCM-60.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Try it and let us know if you think it pulls of a PCM60 or not.jamcat wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:58 pm Old Lexicons were all about modulation within the delay lines. I can’t imagine an IR based reverb is going to deliver anything like a PCM-60.

I also wondered if it was just an IR reverb, I have it but haven't tried it yet.
Beat Lab sounds good, but I love all of Wave Alchemy's stuff. IDK how useful baked in reverb drums are going to be but we'll see

It is an IR-based reverb - like Korneff Micro Digital Reverberator - with some algo parts on top of it to enhance. I only have Reverberate3 with some PCM60 IRs from PastToFuture to compare it with, as I've never used the real deal. So far, I do like it and plan to keep it installed. I think 480 Essentials does the really short ambience well, but I really like the ease of use of Pulse for retro Lex plate and room. 50GBP normal price would be a hard sell, though. All that said, Model 84 sounds glorious with Pulse. And I like Revolution, too.
Beat Lab
I created a Atlas map just for it, as well as added it to my uber-all-map of all drum samples. As was said above, I'm not sure how much I'll use some of the room drums, but... if they're used together they are coherent - they just maybe don't mix and match as well.
The Beat Lab + Pulse combo for 50GBP - 15% for previous purchases was well worth the approx. $50 USD for the two together.
I'll probably pick up Triaz after the holidays before the sale ends, though I have so many drum samples and 2 drum-capable machines that I don't NEED it.

I would guess you're probably mostly wrong, however, it can't be changed dynamically like a hardware unit - it can only be what was captured, which would be a tiny (but hopefully common) sliver of the total capability.jamcat wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:58 pm Old Lexicons were all about modulation within the delay lines. Funny you should mention this discount. I havent been to the new site yet and today I logged in and was expecting to see such a coupon but I couldnt find it. I own Drumvolution and Triaz and those are showing in my account. I also checked my emails and there was nothing about the 15% off. How did you get it? Where did you see it offered?vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 12:41 am ... 15% for previous purchases was well worth the approx. $50 USD for the two together.

wow, I haven't checked in on Wave Alchemy in ages.... frankly kind of thought they had disappeared entirely, but apparently not. Will definitely check out Pulse, seems right up my alley, even if it's IR based, worth a shot....
Edit: their site seems broken. When I click on 'free demo' on Pulse, it just takes me to my account page. No download links, nothing.
How did you guys actually get the demo? Or did you? Every 'free demo' link is just a redirect to the user page.

Interesting. I ended up just getting it without doing a demo because I got the drum samples. Seems like 1) it should download the demo when you click the Demo button, 2) their website is clearly not quite there yet, and 3) i suspect it requires people to have an account to use the demo - and it should say that.mholloway wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 1:10 am wow, I haven't checked in on Wave Alchemy in ages.... frankly kind of thought they had disappeared entirely, but apparently not. They’ll be busy, but contact them directly via the Contact link on the site. It may not be 15% - depends on some things.plexuss wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 12:58 amFunny you should mention this discount. I had an unused coupon code from before the site update - awhile back.

They have already fixed it, clicking free demo now loads a pop-up etc etc. Gonna check this out shortly.vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 2:44 amInteresting. Update: I really like it. Especially on drums.

Thanks for the feedback!
I have extensively tested Pulse alongside a real PCM-60 for quote some time, and I personally cannot hear a difference or tell them apart in blind tests under any setting - presuming the settings are the same on each unit of course!
We extensively sampled the IRs for this project in the same way we treat our other products - i.e. being overly anal and to the highest possible standards. There are many hundreds of carefully recorded IRs that make up the Pulse engine. We are very much OCD when it comes to anything that involves recording, everything from the signal chain (15cm custom Mogami cabling and mastering grade converters for recording the IRs for Pulse) and editing. Hopefully a few on here can vouch for our OCD nature
But of course, Pulse is not just a typical IR plugin. We have built custom DSP specifically for this project. A custom designed level independent transient shaper that allows you to reduce transients going into the reverb (but not affecting the dry signal). This is a really unique feature for giving a natural damping effect to the reverb. A ducking effect (essentially a compressor), and a a control called FLUX. Flux is a complex macro control that does many things at once, such as introducing subtle, smoothed and random EQ changes to the signal, whilst at the same time widening the reverb, and introducing pitch modulation. Using this control at 10% adds subtle variation and movement, and over 50% it adds lush modulation and width to the reverb tails. So, what I am saying, is that whilst this emulates the PCM-60 incredibly well, it can also go much much further.
I can show some A/B examples of the PCM-60 vs Pulse, but I also understand that some people will probably question that. So I am happy to give a free copy of Pulse to anyone one here with a PCM-60 to do an A/B test, or possibly even send you a unit if you're in the UK

With regards to any old coupons from the old website. To confirm, the new website is on a totally different database, with a completely different coupon code system and database structure than our old site. Instead of writing a complex importer script and converting and syncing over 200,000 coupons to a different system entirely (this would have most likely resulted in a few bugs no doubt), we have instead actually reduced the prices of almost all of our products by at least 15% across the board (with the exception of Drum Tools 02). And I don't mean the current Winter Sale prices, but normal non-sale prices in general have been decreased by at least 15% or more (sometimes 35%). So you are not missing out. It's like you now have an unlimited 15% off code automatically
We did this both to help out those who may have had a previous 15% coupon code in their account, but also due to the awful state of the economy recently - trying make our products as affordable as possible during these difficult times for many.
We may also look at depositing all previous customers a small amount of virtual cash too, but that would be in late January if so I'd imagine

We certainly haven't disappeared!
In fact the opposite. Over the past 12 months we've had our heads buried in new development, reinvesting everything we made with TRIAZ into new exciting products. We have been working on the new site for around 8 months, as well as rebuilding TRIAZ from the ground up as a native plugin. Alongside several other native plugins in the pipeline for release next year!
P.S. The free demo currently wants you to be signed in to your account before you can download it, but we are changing that from tomorrow morning so you can grab it without being signed in
