Wouldn't it be nice if there was "one synth to rule them all?" The closest to me would be Pigments except its arp/sequencer is lacking (only 16 steps, no ratcheting, no gate sequencer). Luckily, Diversion scratches that itch.Artie Fichelle wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 8:29 pm An ideal synthesizer would be able to synthezise any sound. So it it just the degree of shortcomings, that they don't. Truly I expect from Kult in the future sounds that I can use not just as effects but as a basis of the composition. If not I won't probably use it alot.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

With Square, Saw, and Sinus waves, and Unison, Kult seems more than capable of bread and butter sounds (have plenty of synth options for those anyway), along with lots of odd, noisy, and evolving sounds (and some nice acoustic type sounds in the mix).
Frankly, I'm a bit astounded at the variety of sound possibilities in there. Still trying to get a handle on Kult. Too early to even truly summarize it.
It does seem a bit like Generate, but with many more waveform generation types (many seemingly more musical), two oscillators, FM/AM, etc. sounds, it's own interesting modulations, etc., but nothing quite like Generate's WaveFolder that I can see. A Sub might fit in nicely too. Anyway, just thoughts at this early point.
Still trying to get a sense of the limitations of possibilities on this one, but exceedingly impressed so far. Very nice job by Dawesome, again.

If you are looking for a more focused overview of Kult's sound, review Yuli Yolo's presets from the upper-left menu to select Yuli Yolo from the Factory menu. I found these to give a good sense of Kult's more sophisticated sound design capabilities.

Thanks for reporting - I will have a look and fix this!kraster wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:03 pm The ARP seems to be losing sync/running slow.
Seems to be running slower than the host clock.
If you or anyone else finds any bug you can send me mail to peter at dawesomemusic dot com

Do you know? Kult comes with a 90 day trial - without any limitations. Just download from tracktion.com, and click "START TRIAL" to, well, start the trial!

Hmm, looks like you can emulate this with a wavetable synth that has some other features (eg. FM, comb filters / resonators). You need to put some work to get your wavetables to sound like these oscillators though. Something like Zebra2 (zebras wave tables might struggle to do this alone, but it does have oscillator 2 effects to which can compensate) and Melda Soundfactory should be able to do it. Even Serum and Vital could do quite a good imitation minus the frequency shifting and resonator (they have comb filters, but this has a feedback path).

Really nice synth and I appreciate the minimalism of the UI for such complex functionality.
Considering the dual complex oscillator design, it would be cool to have a LPG model in the filter section as well as a wave folder in the effects section - maybe the goal was to avoid being too Buchla-inspired but it’s a classic combination. Notch filter would be helpful too.

After hearing a few demos I bought KULT yesterday at 4pm GMT from JJR shop using the GROUP code. It's now 2.30PM the next day and I have not received my activation code (despite getting a reciept from JRR almost immediately after purchase). I reached out to JRR shop after 4 hours waiting, and was told they would "look into" my account. That was 13 hours ago. I have since received no further response from them, despite sending a second email this morning .
Is this normal behaviour for JRR? Anyone else still waiting?

I'll grab the demo if JRR don't get back to me shortly.

I did know that, thanks Peter. Awesome work on KULT, NOVUM and Abyss.PetVor wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 8:54 am Do you know? Kult comes with a 90 day trial - without any limitations. Just download from tracktion.com, and click "START TRIAL" to, well, start the trial!

I bought mine from Audio Deluxe who is usually very prompt with most purchases.. I think it took me 8 hours before I got my license...maybe even more..
I think it is at Tracktion's end the slow down is.. probably being hammered.

No doubt. But being told they would "look into" my account rather than apologising or explaining the situation, and then just not replying is what has pissed me off.zvenx wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 3:10 pm I bought mine from Audio Deluxe who is usually very prompt with most purchases..
