If Reaper sat next to me on the bus, I'd have to suppress the urge to change seats.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

So how do you create new piano roll in Reaper? Do you always need to go to the menu and select the "insert new midi section" or whatever it is called? Isn't there easier way? Like double click or something easy breezy?

There's honestly some pretty amazing stuff there, but ok. Yutani synth, Tukan Studios stuff, all of sai'ke, ReEQ, filther (AMAZING filter plugin), etc...jinotsuh wrote: Mon Dec 26, 2022 11:10 pmJS Plugins.
Seriously.
A lot of it flies under the radar but nowadays the JS environment provides a pretty healthy amount of good quality tools that add value to Reaper.

It would say to you "Stay safe, stay home", and hand over a mask.

no indication it is, latest dev version of 6.73 went up just yesterday. Historically they went way up in the x.99s so I reckon 6 will be around for a while yet.MorpherX wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:12 pm Does anyone know if Reaper 6.7.x is the last version before Reaper 7 ?

There's a Reaper update every two weeks, and there will probably be
another thirty to fifty updates up to version 7.0.

Reaper is always updating in 0.01 steps, each taking roughly 2 weeks on average.
We're currently at 6.73 so 7.00 will probably be due in early 2024, maybe late 2023

As the default action for double-clicking an empty bit of track is to do nothing, I mapped it to Insert Midi Item... It inserts a 4 bar item where you click or, if you have a time selection made, between those limits.FapFilter wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 12:04 pmI use custom key commands.enroe wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:47 amI do that with ctrl+left click - easy breezy!Bartone wrote: Mon Dec 26, 2022 10:47 pm So how do you create new piano roll in Reaper? yes, same behavior as my thing mapped to ENTER
i've also mapped CTRL + ENTER to insert new audio file and COMMAND + ENTER to insert new automation item / convert current selection to automation item
