Doctor Mix has reconstructed this famous song from the late 90's and it sounds very close to the original.
Drums, bass, synthesizers reconstructed in about 90%. Slightly different from the original but it is not possible to get the same effect in 100%.

the real question is "why?"
is this really considered a classic track? i assumed it was a novelty act like the crazy frog thing

This got my 11-year-old son super excited. This is certainly for a younger audience.

im sure he does a good job too, my comment isn't about him.
it's genuine curiosity, the fact he's done it suggests it is considered a classic of its genre, but i honestly assumed parody/novelty piece.
it has all the hallmarks of a novelty track is all, and im sure they made a lot of cash on it, so im also not putting it down as such.
im just finding it difficult to imagine anyone hearing the intro now, and jumping to their feet screaming "chooooon!" at the top of their lungs :hihi:
not like in my day with "its grim up north..." thems classic lyrics :tu:

I was being a little sarcastic.

I know my boy used to jump around to it as a little kid so I guess it's in the collective memory, cheesy as feck but gets people going like the best 'wedding reception' tunes.

you'll never better the nolans!

I'm sure the doctor is making a lot of $$$ on his "recreations", too. His videos are all too obviously 100% promotional videos for the always commercial plugins he praises as magical gifts from heaven (for his sponsors) but the videos' educational value is often more like an asymptote converging to zero. They may be slightly entertaining to newcomers at times but that's about it. Dr Mix and his wondrous plugins/hardware can do it all - hallelujah! We're often just left with this message in the end, so let's go on a shopping spree. And so I once wrote an email asking the chief a tiny question about how to recreate the same sound as in his video in a non-commercial plugin or which one if any he'd acutally suggest - no reply, of course. Time is money...

Anyways, I'm more into educational videos and free art, people who don't think moneywise and pennywise but more lifewise and real wise. Sorry 'bout that but this is not my favorite role model... Let him do his "thang", though...
C'mon, there must be something that you do in your life besides sleeping or working? And then for the first time he was really thinking and what did he reply: I watch TV!

can't say ive seen any tbh. not my thing either, and if you want free art, my channel doesn't cost anything and is art for art's sake, no sales pitch or even education, just me, making noise 8)
/self promo mode off

i honestly wasn't commenting on the video, just the track, as i do remember it. just wasn't my area of listening at the time so didn't realize it was such a big track :)

That's cool, Vurt! I sure like that! Thumbs up for that! I mean real thumbs up - not on a youtube basis, you know...

The song wasn't such a big deal. It was one of the earworms we as teens used to rather make fun of but it wasn't anything greater than all the other chart hits at the time. It was one of many chart hits as I remember it. A fleeting star. Never heard anything of the group again after some weeks. Most of these groups changed names all the time so it's sometimes difficult to remember their names or not mix them up with others because they all sounded so similar. The trick here was the vocoder voice and those repetitions that hammer themselves into people's heads. Quite effective strategies they used to come up here. This in combination with some children's babbling. It's catchy, you know...
