Hi all.

After many many days of using google to find some DAW or other software to create colored noise (i.e. white green black to name a few) I came to this forum to reach out and ask some help.

The DAW's I have are, Reaper 6.72, Reason 12 and Cubase 12.
I have some plugins that can generate white noise. I read that with some filters (HP, LP and BP) you can make all colors you like.

I would like to ask the what plugins are the best to achieve this?
The software or plugin does not need to be related to the DAW's I use at the moment.
Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks a lot in advance

Whatever... It's all white noise through EQ to shape it to a colour. Most basic audio editors have noise generators. There is a difference between that and a DAW.

You're overthinking it. What's best is what you have on hand: if there's a DAW that doesn't come with filters or EQ, I haven't heard of it. Honestly, there's no magic involved in making colored noise; it's just pure, simple math that was understood way back in punch card days: white noise + filter = colored noise. ISTR it's 6dB/octave lowpass for pink, but I always just twiddled knobs until I found the right dB and sometimes corners to fit in with everything else. Cheers and many happy discoveries to you!
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any recommendation for a good filter/EQ that can do this job?

Pink is WN passed through 3dB lowpass. The best way imo is just use what you have and tune it by ear like Jafo said.
