Just chiming in on this thread to say I own quite a few McDSP plugins and have just purchased a Mac Studio so was very keen when I noted McDSP had updated to V7.
That was until I went to the site and worked out how much it would cost to "upgrade" to V7.
I love my McDSP plugins and have used them for almost 2 x decades but the market has changed and in my opinion the Fee for upgrading to V7 is just a little too steep so I won't be using them on the new mac.
it's a shame but I think they're going to lose a lot of older customers like myself who feel somewhat disgruntled at the Fees.
I can basically buy 2 or 3 really great new options from other Vendors for what it cost to upgrade

What changed from V6 to 7, that was worth the update price ?

Nothing , for me, I only own Futzbox tbh , and that simply wasn't worth the update price.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Upgraded the 6060 to v7, but not really seeing anything new :dog:

I have quite a few McDSP plugins as well, so I will skip the costly upgrade. No doubt, sooner or later
they will all be available for cheap anyway

A paid upgrade for functionality that SHOULD have been there all along (…windows version of ec300 was sold to me months before it was actually available…) is a touch egregious

Isn't that what the "D" stands for?

I read this thread and got me interested in the Analog Channel. So surprisingly good.

It is great and hard to replace. I wouldn't suggest investing in McDSP anyway, very user unfriendly policy.

Agreed the $30 upgrade price for a GUI update is a joke. I emailed this thread to MCDSP. doubt they’ll listen.

The advanced limiter, noise reduction plugins etc are so transparent and top-best. The more i try, the greater i like the sonic characteristic of Mcdsp, hope they will correct, adapt and continue better.

Yeah - apart from an iLok drama, moving my licence to new studio machine is sweet and easy
Fight Apathy or don't.

I emailed them and complained about it because until this ridiculous update price I was a fan. I asked them to please avoid hyping marketing bs to me because I know whats included in the updates and its simply not worth it. they wrote back and said "oh well". so do let them know your thoughts because its the only way to get their heads out of own asses.

McDsp is really a pioneer and a powerhouse when it comes to quality and cpu usage! One of the best companies out there.
