If it's a double bass, I'm f**ked!
Does anyone here know what they're doing?

I just riff to the notes I see the bass player playing.

I know don't doing what I am either.
Words are bad enough, never mind those little squiggly things - they just look like spermatozoa in cages to me. Don't know why musicians always put them in cages....
I've a much better system instead of quavers, semiquavers and minims (or is that M'n'Ms?). Just use the note letters and have a, A, big a, big A, huge A....b, B, big b, big B, huge B etc. Makes more sense than little sperms, big sperms, upside down sperms, twin sperms and triplet sperms, I reckon.
Mmmmmm....I'll get me coat.

It would be awesome if every double-post automatically included a reference to "getting it in the right hole."ianweb123 wrote:Didn't I already do that jokebucket (Double Post) wrote:The trick is...

Well it is interesting, that I have no idea really? I never could read sheet music, and I still cant to this day. When I started music all I had was Fruity Loops and I knew to use C as my base note! LOL
My expansion is interesting, as I can play a pioano (synth, etc) to some extent, but only original,a nd I have no clue about the notes, or sheet music...? I would have to do it in my head, and if I had to write it it would be a keybord diagram with the keys filled in! hehe
I do know about synthesizers and all the nice knobs, over the years I can usually pick up any synth from modualr old school usints to the newst VST and get started right away...
I have heard that alot of great music people in time, never did know music therory and it just came "natural" or I am just justifing it? LOL

I'm no good sight reader by any means, but I ALLWAYS know what I'm doing. Sometimes unfortunately... all that knowledge will often take you away from some intuitive, fresh ideas.
Good thing to get me jobs though. I can read chord sheets and medium complexed rhythms prima vista more or less fine, seems to be the important thing for guitarists.

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I think I know what I'm doing.
I write & play mainly jazz, bossa & easy listening, appart from some techno & dance experiments. Just to keep my mind young.
