I like to imagine this should be the future. I would think it’s possible?greententacle wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 6:10 pm thanks for the info.

It’d definitely solve some annoying permission and dependency issues when installing.

I'd say definitely worth it, it was just okay at first on v1 and v2, still better than the other options out there for room simulation in headphones, but there was some rooms I preferred more than others because some sounded a little too phasey and jarring. Since v3 though every room is great and the issue is deciding which 1 to pick, it's why I think essential version is probably a better buy simply because you don't have the issue of too many rooms to pick from.greententacle wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 6:10 pm thanks for the info.

Zuma midfields sound a lot like HS80M's in my friends room. Very nice, very very nice.

Yes the update is absolutely phenomenal. It went from "this is good" to "this is unbelievably good!".elxsound wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 10:43 pmI’ve been dreading the update because the last one was tedious, but your enthusiasm is gonna push me to set it up tonight.bmanic wrote: Thu Dec 08, 2022 6:45 pm .. and 3.03 is absolutely AMAZING! I know I have to be careful here but this might be it. This might be 100% "perfect" now.
VSX has been the best purchase ever. Like, EVER, in my whole career in audio.
Are you still liking the update, almost a month later?

Confirming Zuma mids are my favourite. Put gain to High from Topping L30 and a big smile formed on my face. Wow.

Which means you like ADAM monitors. Personally I really dislike the sonic signature of ADAM monitors. Was forced to work on a pair of S3 monitors for quite some time and I absolutely hated it.. so VSX just confirms to me how accurate it is because I can't stand the mids in the Zuma room at all! Yes I sometimes double check on them but it triggers my anxiety and memories from back in the day.
The Zuma Farfield monitors are really interesting though. Very wide and "in your face". They don't seem to sound like the typical far field monitors at all, probably because they are mounted into the walls and apparently were trinnov calibrated and already had amazing separation and dynamics. All of that seems to come through in the VSX version.
Still, my favorite combo is mixing on Archon Mid (sounding better than ever before in the v3 update) and then checking everything in Howie Weinberg's room on the mains (Engineering position mostly).

Yeah the farfields are very in my face, I noticed I'm quickly friend with them too. Maybe its the room overall but seems to work for me.
Archon Mid is where I start because I'm most familiar with the sound of it on VSX. Its great too, then now Zuma <-> Howie Engineering and quick checks on Mike's car/club for bass and avantone and boombox for overall lowend translation. I do flick to apple wireless pods too quickly.
The rooms I can compose in now are Archon and Zuma. Great scott!

Hi, i've just bought second hand "Founders Editions" (written on it) VSX headphones today online. They're on their way right now. Is there any technical differences in the sound between the different models ? Bought them for 325usd with the platinum Ilok liscense transfer. I'm a bit lost in all the models and stuff, can someone help me ? Thanks a lot

Sonically, there should be no difference. The only thing is that I believe these are the original editions that have plastic adjustable bands that do break.jmiiiii wrote: Mon Jan 16, 2023 5:25 pm Hi, i've just bought second hand "Founders Editions" (written on it) VSX headphones today online. I have the plastic ones too and it just broke last week. They’ve already shipped out new ones to me, that should come later this week.
I didn’t do anything special to cause a break either and apparently it’s a common issue.

Thanks a lot ! Really appreciate ! Yeah I've heard slate was super fast with their customer service, especially with this issue I guess, that seems to be quite common. Hoper mine don't break. Did you have to send the broken ones first, before they shipped the new ones back to you ? Thanks for the quick answer anyway

I just sent them a photo of mine showing the break and it was good enough for them to send a new pair to UK within a week all they needed was the serial number, so I think you should be okay although not sure if they check whether they're 2nd hand and whether that matters to themjmiiiii wrote: Mon Jan 16, 2023 6:31 pm Hoper mine don't break. Like Digivolt mentioned, I had to send a picture.jmiiiii wrote: Mon Jan 16, 2023 6:31 pm Thanks a lot ! Really appreciate ! I also needed to provide the order number. I bought mine direct from Slate.
Their FAQ says there’s a 2 year warranty but doesn’t make mention about 2nd hand sales. Since you’re still waiting for yours, maybe you can ask the seller if there’s an order number, or if they can tell you where they bought it from?
