Recording of a short performance @ Common Space Brewery in Hawthorn, CA for the monthly synth meetup.

I had a camera setup but for some reason it didn't record. :dog:
I still managed to stitch some images and video together.

Very cool. Love the crunchy bits and there’s lots of crunch!

Nice melodies and lots of changes. It’s impressive to do this live.

As for the visuals I’m just stuck on that one guy with the 80s outfit. Where did he get those things? My older brother had those same shoes (I think). I had a jacket like that, but navy blue, blue and grey. He’s got the whole look down.

Anyway, the yellow suitcase is very impressive! :o

Yes, this is a nice live performance with a very earthy rhythm throughout!
You can literally see how cables are plugged in and controls are turned.
The track sometimes turns into polyphonic progressions. Very nice! :tu:

Thanks both of you! I realize now that I could have stretched this performance out to be much longer but in the moment, I was worried that it was going to go on for too long.
Performing with modular is tricky and doing any kind of transition requires a lot of planning. The Octatrack makes that easier, since I can loop a phrase from the modular and then rearrange it. That gives me a little time to setup the modular to do something different. u-he's CVilization makes it really easy to make variations on sequences and even switch to a different source of CV/Gate signals.
This was my first performance in quite a long time and it went well enough to give me confidence that I can pull it off again. Hopefully, as I regain my sea legs, I'll be able to do more elaborate stuff.

Anyway, it was a hell of a lot of fun!

Solid beat and lots of interesting sounds tying it all together. Some melodic parts sound like a skewered dawn chorus. Pretty cool.

Too bad about the video recording. Would have liked to see that. Were there many patrons besides the synth group?

Love the beats on this recording, and the pics and vids are so appreciated.
Very cool synths.
I agree, the yellow luggage is chill!!!
Congratulations!!!

Minimal and strong. I enjoyed this. :tu:

Simple yet interesting. The additions are cool, especially the squelchy sounds at about 3:00. Was that planned? (3am)
Well done!

Thanks! There were patrons but the performance space is kinda separate from the rest of the brewery. At least there were more people than the last time I played out.

Thanks for listening! Yeah, I love the yellow case too. It's not as protective as I'd like but it's perfect for my drum machines. :tu:

Yes and no? Those sounds are are part of a chaotic patch, which is kinda being controlled by the 8-step sequencer but what it does is pretty unpredictable. So once it starts doing something I like, I sample it with the Octatrack, then manipulate that loop further.
It's like someone who unintentionally pulls off a cool trick... of course I meant to do that!

That sounds like a good approach to getting something you like. Nice!

Awesome. Live electronics is fun. Transitions are tricky sometimes with live modular synthesis. It really adds a thrill.
