Ableton - How to change default values (0-127) on macro knob in instrument rack ?

Hello, everyone.
I would like to know if its possible for a macro knob to show something else besides 0-127 when mapping to VSTi.
Example: I am trying to make a macro knob - FiLTER CUTTOF control the "Cutoff Frequency" knob in Arturia Mini V VSTi. In the VSTi the numbers on the tooltip of the said knob are frequencies, ranging from 40hz to 20.000hz.
I would like for a macro knob in ableton instrument rack that holds the VSTI shows the similar values.
Thanks for help!

You can't. Only built-in devices. IIRC, it's not the DAW but the VST communication protocol.

Doubtful. VST protocol passes parameters as 32-bit floats (normalised to range 0-1 if I remember rightly), and allows the DAW to read the name, range, and units of the parameter. That's clearly demonstrated by Live's macro mapping process where all of that is visible properly for each parameter.liquidsound wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 5:49 pm You can't. Only built-in devices. The 0-127 restriction on the macro control is more likely to be the result of Live using a representation scaled for MIDI
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Bitwig, Studio One have the same issue. Then it's not just Ableton. Is there any DAW giving real value macro feedback for VSTs?whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:45 pmDoubtful. I wonder if there is a M4L tool for this.
