Why do people here hate on cherry audio?

Love CA. Last month I went balls-deep on voltage Modular. I purchased an absurd number of module bundles. It’s so much fun and sounds badass. Even if I’m not in the “mood” to make music, it inspires me to do it. The Adroit granular synth is the best one I’ve ever used and it was only $29. Crazy.

That’s awesome! Voltage Modular is becoming something very special. Playertron, Weevil, R_Ware, etc. Really high quality developers. R_Ware is doing something very cool with their free Airwindows ports as well. Little tweaks and enhancements for Voltage Modular to add some flavour. So fun.masterhiggins wrote: Thu Jan 05, 2023 12:14 am Love CA. Last month I went balls-deep on voltage Modular. I purchased an absurd number of module bundles. It’s so much fun and sounds badass. Voltage Modular is huge fun!
The full VM Core + Electro Drums is marked down to $50 right now. VM Nucleus with 20 modules and 176 presets is free. Check it out!

In case no one has seen it:
Keep in mind in this video he doesn’t even utilize the crap load of CV inputs that make this synth insane.
It also has a record input. So you could sequence or trigger recording with midi or gate or trigger CV signals and playback and modulate nearly anything with nearly anything.

I own Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular, Polymode and CA2600. I think they sound good but the user interfaces of Arturia's emulations are better. Arturia has a built in help system with integrated tutorials and a better preset browser. I don't hate on Cherry Audio though. They have cool synths and fair prices.

People still sleeping on VM should rethink their Game.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

Ikr? Even if they just flattened the gui more like vcv it’d be 80% better.Vortifex wrote: Sat Jan 07, 2023 8:00 pm I see that CA are advertising for a UI designer. Hopefully this means their plugins will get a much needed facelift at some point.
Before using VM I always thought the best way to program percussion was to use a sequencer. I never even considered just cross-linking clock dividers for trigger signals. It’s basically like a “neural network” with each divider influencing one another and making really interesting rhythms. Seriously cool stuff.

I hate Cherry Audio for bundling their synths into Humble Bundle bundles (I need to type bundle one more time - bundle) and making me donate to a good cause so I can basically steal their synths for next to nothing and get endless hours of enjoyment out of them.
Seriously though, I ended up in this thread because I wanted to hear peoples thoughts on the Stardust 201 Tape Echo..?? I can use my Plugin Boutique points and cross grade for $1, it's a tough decision, seems a little expensive for what it is, but I think I'm swayed towards buying it.. Really I just want the VISION 4X Lite freebie so I can upgrade for next to nothing when the upgrade goes on sale, and then bag another freebie. I'm a menace.
Oh, I hate Voltage Modular too, I don't want to have fun.

Nah, don't bother. It's only worth 97c, $1 is taking the piss.Srae wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 7:23 pm Seriously though, I ended up in this thread because I wanted to hear peoples thoughts on the Stardust 201 Tape Echo..??
