I hit a snag in with a vital task in Logic. Does anyone have a technique they can explain to me to add more than 1 row at a time to the Logic Pro X pattern editor? It really gets in the way to have to add single rows. Are there any pattern templates for things like 6 octaves of rows for sequences or similar for drums?

The quickest way is to turn on record on the pattern sequencer and play all the notes on your controller that you want to have in the pattern. Then you can clear all rows with one command.

Will it auto name each row "Melodic" even if it's drums is the other Q?

Nevermind I'll just check it if you don't know or don't want to answer.

There are templates
You can also create your own template and save it for future use.

It will name it the pitch of the note... it is only melodic if you have different pitches on the same row

Also, with it recording, you can move the modwheel or turn knobs and it will create lanes for those as well. And as Ozinga mentioned, you can save templates of your patterns. Most of the time I just start blank though. I find it easier to add than edit.

Only snag now is with the demo of OP-X II with weird MIDI note drop glitches and with other plugins. OP-X II seems to be a great Zebra 2 alternative for some stuff and is very hardware like and I love the pattern editor in ways but I so much prefer other DAW's for other things because I'm not into the interface in Logic. Do you know why Logic gets MIDI dropouts? None of my other DAW's do.

You have provided almost no info about the conditions when it happens. Are you on an M1/2 machine and if so, is OP-X II running in Rosetta?

Good good and it clearly even allows exotic scales. In ways I just prefer Geist 2 for it's slick features and Reason 12 with it's various chainable players and tools that can modify patterns but if I want to use Reason with another GUI I might choose Logic.

Yeah and it's not like you're tech support but I'll answer. I am using Rosetta mode on the latest version of Logic Pro X as of late 2022/early 2023 and have macOS Ventura 13.1 going on a cool Mac m1 Mini that did really well for me with occasional near overheating that only happens with mixdowns that is quelled when you limit the processing to 2 processers in Reason and other DAW's. My MIDI is just USB MIDI over core audio with a Native Instruments keyboard.

No, not tech support, but there are plenty of experienced and savvy people here who can be helpful... and you asked the question!

I only have native plugins on my machine... and I have not noticed any note dropouts in Logic. (M1-Pro MBP)

I may have to skip Logic until v11. But that's how life goes. My life has been slowing down in ways and recently I've just net surfed all day and shopped for ideas and feel bored but not only that my physical conditions are 60% worse now. I think I may have resurrected many times in 2022 to avoid an event. Bad luck. I still make do with my ideas and am active but it's bad luck.
