After demoing it seems like Pigments with better sequencer and less options overall. It sounds great and all, just seems a bit redundant in Arturia's repertoire. Someone please convince me so I can pointlessly spend money, thx
Pointlessly spending money was my main incentive, that and my sad completist obsession.

I almost bought the hardware synth because I was so impressed with it in all the youtube demos. Just demoed the plugin for 30 min and uninstalled. Not impressed at all. My conclusion is hardware is always better than software. :hihi:

All because of the analog filter?

nope. because unlike software, hardware can double as a weapon in times of great strife like armageddon.
not gonna brain many zombies with a vst.

I have a few patches that could do the trick.

ooh sounds that can kill the undead! we need several banks of these for the various genus of the undead, like vampyr, werewolves, whites and so on.

money's not great, but the value comes from saving your eternal soul from wandering the earth forevermore.

Maybe youtube compression adds some analog warmth to these videos.

But more seriously, I think after the initial hype dying down there's just nothing impressive or unique there, atleast for me.

It has a lot of interesting oscillator types (I think 22 in total) including some from MI and Noise Engineering...my price is 69 bucks - seems tempting.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

as an owner of the hardware, I might as well chime in. The VST sounds almost identical. If you don't like the plugin sound, you won't like the hardware sound. The 0.001% difference in sound quality isn't going to change your mind. BUT I will say, the filter on the hardware is much smoother and it makes for an aesthetically pretty little MIDI controller.

I don't get it. Minifreak VST is 199$, same price of Pigments. Makes no sense.

I thought the filter on the hardware was digitally modelled and not actually analog ?

Nope, it has a real multimode analog filter per voice and a digital filter that can be used in lieu of the second oscillator (and sounds better than the "analog" one in the plugin)!

That makes me want the hardware more now
