Today 1010Music announced Razzmatazz a digital drum synth. Really excited to announce that I did some sound design work for this awesome new drum synth by 1010music. This video shows how easy it is to change a snare sound and use the sequencer. I also show how fun it is to use Razzmatazz to expand your existing electronic drums and tabletop setup. PLUS bonus interview with Aaron Higgins of 1010Music at the end.

At 400 bucks to too expensive for me for an 8 voice digital drum machine with almost no hands-on control- TR6S seems like much better value (costs less), analogue modelled, FM and samples and is battery powered!
Being this tiny but no built-in battery makes no sense at all to me...'all in a compact package that goes anywhere' as long as you have an umbilical PSU!

X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Gotta say, I was ready to dismiss it before even watching (well, skimming) the vid, but there's a lot packed into that little box and it actually looks pretty easy to use/navigate. The price is a bit steep and, yeah, having a battery for portability would probably be a big selling feature, but I sorta like the tiny form factor.

Very cool, and congrats on the release! Hope it does well.djpuzzle wrote: Mon Oct 10, 2022 3:16 pm Really excited to announce that I did some sound design work for this awesome new drum synth by 1010music.

I sometimes wish they would stick to one platform for all their stuff and just make it the best "all-in-one" music machine of all time, because i'm pretty sure it would be, complex sure, but no more than a DAW, probably easier, their interface with the touch screen on e.g Blackbox is great.
Then yes, eventually that machine will be too slow and they can release an updated version of it. kind of like Disting for eurorack (which has 5 versions now, each getting more powerful, each can do more than the previous).
They release so much stuff and then the support for previous machines drops or at least slows down considerably. everything is a bit half-assed in the end. for the blackbox there's so much missing that would take it from decent/good to incredible.
it's a super small team too, releasing so many machines each requiring support and updates... i don't think it's ideal. how many people on programming, like one, maybe two, for like 10 units or whatever they have now.

Why is it that these tiny designed-for-leprechauns hw units seem to be the most expensive? I get the portability etc, but that's just so small - nah. And at that price - nah, nuh-uh, no way. Is it like knickers? - the less material, the more expensive. You can buy 2 sets of victorian bloomers for every one G-string
