Dawesome Kult (Release Dec 22)

Kult along with Novum (I have yet to try Abyss) are IMHO incredible synths that evoke feelings from classic Roland gear but with a thoroughly modern aesthetic. Kult in particular (because of this thread) offers a tremendous range of tones and timbres.

Abyss is really nice for atmospheric sounds and also has a unique design and way of working with the sources. It's a good trilogy of modern innovative synths.

Impossible to just run through your ten patches, need to keep weaving my way through the menu chaos. Early days.

Currently it works like this: The "next" and "prev" are always referring to the next and prev patch in the selection of patches in the left sidebar.

The searchfield takes the patch name and the patch author into account. So if you want to go through all the patches of lets say DataBroth you type "Databroth" in the searchfield and now use prev / next to step through. Once it reaches one end of the selection it goes back to the other end.

In the future:
There will be a separate, more comprehensive presetbrowser in a future update.
The sidebar to the left will stay - KULT will get a special randomisation feature: the patches selected in the left sidebar will be taken as "population", and then a genetic algorithm will "breed" new patches from that selection.

Sure enough, this will be a free update, of course. So please bear with me!

For anyone who uses NKS and Komplete Kontrol there is a very comprehensive NKS conversion for Kult in the NKS User Library made by myself and other NI forum members that helps with browsing (including enabling hardware control, browsing and previewing of patches in NKS capable hardware like NI keyboards and Maschine)

There are also ones for Novum and Abyss too

Excited about this the same way I was about Razor (which is still quite awesome) - going to get lost in possibilities!
If I were nitpicking, my biggest complaint may be the font size relative to the window - even scaling up to almost full screen it's quite small. Less of a problem once you know your way around.

Beyond that, there's only one feature that seems to be objectively missing - unless I'm just a dumbass. I don't see a way to sync the LFOs or delay times to dotted or triplets. Workaround is to go async of course and adjust per track, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a sync feature. It's especially important (IMHO) for the delay.

Beyond that - rock on Peter! Going to be checking out the rest of the Dawesome kit

Any progress? I'm still on version 1.0.0 even though your product pages show 1.0.2 (and 1.0.3 on the new expansion videos). Tracktion download manager says Im up to date. Was there ever an update?

I’ve been experimenting with Kult and wanted to share a video showcasing some of the sounds I came up with. This synth has an incredible raw and unpredictable character which is perfect for gritty, rhythmic, and atmospheric textures. If you’re into that kind of sound design, you might find it interesting.
Kult is one of those synths that shouldn’t be overlooked. Too much potential
