How'd I miss this? :o

What an excellent tool now that it supports non-Waves VST3's. I always wanted something quick and easy to multi-band effects into preset 'templates' for specific tracks. And tried this one when it supported Waves-only plugs hoping it would be opened. This also can mono per band and widen as well.

Ironically, I had one crash in selecting a Waves plugin, but it is probably an old version. All the u-he, valhalla, and fabfilter plugs working great so far in it!!!

I hemmed and hawed so long on the Blue Cat version but just couldn't get around spending that for what it was. Now I get that functionality for free.

My only concern is it is built by Waves in that I hope they don't discontinue this on a whim a year or four down the road (after I've deeply embedded it in my workflow). :phew:

That's what I'm using it for in Reaper. You can do this natively, I have various templates for multi-band splits etc but, as much as I like Repaer, reconfiguring them can be a pain (lots of re-pinning connections etc). So much simpler with StudioRack.

Yes, indeed!

I'm (pleasantly) surprised Waves didn't charge for the VST3 "unlocked" version. Or at least add some annoying limitation to VST3 plugins. This thing is excellent.

My only concern is the filters used to split the signal, I have a feeling it smears the audio a bit. Making it useless on transient heavy material. Need to do some more testing though.

Why are you concearned that this might happen because it is made by one of the few companies (probably the only plugin-vendor of that size and also the longest-running company) that never discontinue anything?

Personally I can't think of any other company small or big where I would be less concearned that this might happen.

Do a null test and find out.

I think so too. Would be far more likely with an iZotope product though. That said, I hope Waves also includes AU's next to VST3 (yes, I am lazy and don't want to reinstall all my plugins to also have VST3 installed.. I am a Logic user).

Hope they open up for the AU format. Don't want to install this VST3 stuff additionally.

Yes it flies in the face of Waves just cares about taking people’s money... No, they just need to pay their employees when they spend several months coding fixes for an underlying change in the DAW or OS.

I just wish they did AU as well, because I had to exclusively install VST versions just so I can use them in StudioRack. I only really use Komplete Kontrol to browse for patches across multiple plugins, so didn’t really need to install VST effects there.

AU compatibility would cut down on storage requirements and the extra maintenance.
