I have 2 keyboards (Roland A-88 & Novation 61), on both keyboards the pitch bend and mod wheel decided they would randomly spit out data by themselves. This occured quite quickly (within a year), I'd be surprised if I was the only one this kind of thing happened to.
Anyway, I filtered out cc#1 and pitch bend in my daw (cubase). And never worried about it again. But I'm getting into orchestral composition recently and obviously cc#1 is super important.
So what I need is to be able to filter out cc#1 only from the 2 keyboards as I have another device I can use, so is there an external midi filter that works (per device) I can run in the background? Because cubase ignores these globally from all midi inputs.
Even better would be able to disable the modwheel from within the keyboards themselves but that is not possible for the A-88, I can't even make it output an unused cc# which would have resolved the problem.
MIDI Filter options?

I believe there are many apps dedicated to, or suitable for MIDI filtering.
Perhaps it’s overkill (it’s far more than a MIDI filter), but I’ll mention Bidule since I use it for this sort of task, among many others, and it works well. The standalone beta is free to use/test.

Late I know....
I had this issue with a Nordlead that when playing vibrations were enough to make mod wheel to generate some CC#1 when not wanted.
Solution was to just put some rubber foam to make mod wheel slightly heavier to move.
Other ways to check out could be iConnectivity MIo interface which has configuration to almost surgicly filter things on a certain port. I removed midi clock from a device with success once.
Third way might be to use Cubase Logical Editor plugin version of the programable filter for just certain tracks remove it where not wanted.
