I get the impression from that article, at some point in the future, that I could be using an old tower PC with an old version of Windows, with old versions of software to continue my 'old' working methods of music production.

If they are aiming at 15 year olds long term, whom they claim most don't even own a laptop, then it seems we're moving towards phone and tablet software and more micro hardware (that 15 year olds can afford). :help:

But maybe that's just the Behringer approach and not speaking for the market as a whole. I've never been into the launchpad or clones. But if we're extending beyond this and discussing AI, then I'm not liking what I'm hearing.

Post

Yeah... an AI based DAW for the phone is not aimed at me :hihi:

With the DAW, the brand is being careful not to “recreate something that is
already there,” says Götz Müller-Dürholt, Customer Branding Leader at Behringer.
This is the most ironic thing anyone at Behringer ever said about their own products in public.

No, it isn't.

I used to code multimedia apps on CD-ROM for a distance leaning uni and I worked on one that had a crazy deadline about 16 hours a day for a week plus weekend to get the code ready for the release duplication. We ended up releasing a day late, my code was ready but the UI designer had 2 weeks to design three buttons and didn’t get it done on time because he wasn’t happy with the drop shadow or some similar shit. I was not a happy bunny, had to bribe a mate in the design department to knock them up in his lunch hour. :x

Building a DAW is extremely difficult. I’ve worked on one off and on for years. There is a tremendous amount of complexity that usually isn’t easy to see from the user point of view.

I'm not likely to ever play Half Life 3, so that level of soon seems about right...

So that means you have access to some real inside info - that's great! Please tell us more then - spill the beans - I love me some hard facts!

(Normally in these kind threads you just get Joe Average posting the next dumb nonsense that enters his weak mind as if it had the slightest ounce of credibility to it, so guys like you are a godsend :tu:)
