They appear, but there are very few options. I've only seen one synthesizer working with Clap, it's Surge. It made an extremely pleasant impression with its interface, speed, responsiveness, but by itself it has a mediocre sound. I judge according to my taste. As soon as possible, everyone would switch to Clap - this is resource optimization by 2-2.5 times, as we are promised.pdxindy wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 5:43 pmLots of the Bitwig capability is also starting to work with some plugins... particularly MPE and most recently CLAP plugins that support PolyMod.Anatolio wrote: Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:22 am
By the way, it's a pity that all Bitwig branded options, like the expression of notes, work only on Bitwig synths. And thus the coolness of these amazing options is lost. If anyone is offended, I respect all musicians and all styles, I'm just talking about my EDM preferences.
The synth sound continues to sound after the end of the note

You have a funny story about ANA)) . But here the question is how long ago it was and what are your preferences in music. To each his own.zerocrossing wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:17 am That’s funny, because “mediocre” was my exact thought when I got Ana as a free synth along with something else I bought. I kicked the tires a bit and thought, “nothing special,” and never went back to it. I also don’t really make EDM… or maybe I do and don’t know it. Sometime told me they loved my Electro track I did for their game and I have no idea what Electro is.
But you have Bitwig, so just spend a few minutes duplicating the part in Grid and see if you can get there. I really only brought it up because I knew you were using Bitwig so it was a no cost option, but there’s stuff like Vital too.
As for the grid, it is certainly a useful thing, but there is a question of priorities in my opinion. Many people, including me, like to dig into "virtual hardware", twist handles and so on. But I always have to remember the main goal is to make a high-quality, interesting track as quickly as possible, and the grid is currently out of these priorities.

If we talk about MIDI, it's not completely correct.maanga wrote: Fri Jan 20, 2023 1:52 pm MIDI Signal from sequencer for one note :
Port number + channel number + note number + ON condition
Port number + channel number + note number + OFF condition
NOTE ON:
port number + NOTE ON message + channel number + note number + velocity (n > 0, that is n != 0)
NOTE OFF:
1) port number + NOTE OFF message + channel number + note number + velocity (any from 0 to 127)
(velocity defines speed of release but this message mostly isn't processed correctly)
or
2) port number + NOTE ON message + channel number + note number + velocity (0)
Yes, NOTE OFF message may be coded as NOTE ON message with velocity 0.
But I'm not sure whether this is a source of the described problem.

There are also now CLAP betas of Diva, ACE, Bazille and Hive from u-he. They support PolyMod so you can use Bitwig's modulation per voice.Anatolio wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:18 pmThey appear, but there are very few options. Well, I don’t use Grid as an instrument that much, but that’s probably more because of habit than anything else. Be careful of your judgements. I recently had two experiences where I was totally wrong. In one case, I judged Korg’s Modwave synth has having a very weak sounding MS20 filter, in comparison to Arturia’s emulation. It was my error, as I wasn’t putting enough signal into the filter to get that classic MS20 sound. To my defense, it’s got a weirdly implemented way of boosting signal to the filter, but after figuring that out, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded. I don’t really need another wavetable synth, but who knows? Maybe when I feel the itch for something new.Anatolio wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 1:23 pmYou have a funny story about ANA)) . The second one was revisiting Massive. In my head, Massive X was a big improvement sonically. In some respects, feedback, filter FM and drive, I’m right. Massive doesn’t even do some of it, but when I decided to do an a/b, I was surprised at how similar they could sound. I’m sure I based my original opinion on its interface (which I still hate) and the presets, which aren’t to my liking. But I’m fully admitting my opinion has totally changed, at least about the core sound. I’m just suggesting that you check it out. If you post the preset file, I’d like to see if I could duplicate it in Grid. It would push me to learn it better.

I have no doubt that the grid in the right hands + unlimited time will give a better result than ready-made solutions. It's more a question of lack of time (in my case)zerocrossing wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 3:34 pm The second one was revisiting Massive. In my head, Massive X was a big improvement sonically. There's no reason you should spend time on the Grid in that case. I just want to point out that the Grid doesn't require that much time, but rather discipline to not just wander around in all the places it can go. It could certainly be a time consumer if you aren't focused to stay on task.Anatolio wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:14 pm

after all that has been said here, not to try the grid-it will not be right. I will definitely experiment with it and thank you for pointing out this opportunity to me!pdxindy wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:38 pm There's no reason you should spend time on the Grid in that case.
