Hi.

I seem to be observing that 'Duplicate Track'

always duplicates a track with a plugin to use the same plugin instance.

Would it be possible to add 'Duplicate Track w New Plugin Instance' for tracks with plugins?

I don't know if this is possible, but if the little plug icon on each track could both open and close a plugin window, that would be cool.

I could reproduce an issue when a composition saved in beta6 could not be loaded in beta7.
I confirm beta8 works well. I'll upload it shortly.

I'm wondering, is it currently even possible to duplicate a track and then manually change the plugin on it w/o also automatically changing the plugin on the original in the same way?

If so, what is the current workflow to accomplish that?

Good point! I wanted to improve that, so that the plug icon indicate whether the window is opened or not.

Hi Attila using v4.6b7 I cannot load any vst2 plugins at all.
The plugin interface opens then crashes RC.

This is happening with all vst2 plugins. Can anyone else verify if they receive the same fault.
vst3 seem to work as expected.

Hi.

I'm observing a case where the new track area (where one would right-click to add a new track)

has gone away.

Presumably this should never happen (?).

Given that it has, how can I get it back?

I suggest items for the track menu dialog, available for any existing track:

Create New Track Above This One
Create New Track Below This One
Create New Track at Bottom

I hate to report this, but I'm noticing a very noticable audible delay for the sounding of MIDI. (the same MIDI source, used in a DAW, has no such delay)

Thanks for that. I'll delete my vst2(s) off and re add them to see if that makes any difference.

Yes, this is possible. After duplication, select a new instance from the instrument menu for one of the tracks (choose the same plug-in, but not in the "Loaded Plug-ins" section)

In beta8 there is a button for duplicating a track with a new plug-in instance.

Smart instrument menu displays instruments based on their usage statistics
List search text box can be cleared
"Duplicate track with new plug-in instance" button added with shortcut
Fixed: timeline selection by right-clicking on the structure bar works during playback

I found a crashing bug, I am almost sure that was the same as the one you found.
It is fixed in beta8, which is available now.
