How to make Lillingtons drums with ezDrummer?

Hello!

My english is not very good but i try to explain.

Here is the sample of my drum track and the original:

I'm trying to get the same sound that The Lillingtons have on their Death By Television album. I'm using ezDrummer and i found a kit that is quite similar but there are some problems especially with the snare drum. Do you have any ideas what should I do with it? I think it has too much sustain(?) on it. Maybe something else is also wrong with it... Or maybe it isn't that bad after I've have recorded the guitars also. What do you think?

And other problem I noticed, even though it's a virtual drummer, the original drum track sound so much tighter. Should I use compressor for the whole drum bus?

I'm not very good at using plugins so simple instructions would be appreciated the most

Or can I "fix" those things in ezDrummer application itself?

the best thing to do is get better samples/kits
trying to improve something where there are 100s of good alternatives is a huge waste of time and often when you compare them to what you tried to emulate you'll still not like it as much.
