Hi guys,
I can't really nail this sound. It consists of an attack part and a sustain part. I think the attack is a layering of some percussive rectangle fifths (and possibly additional mallet samples) which I have recreated more or less sufficiently (still room for improvement though), but I am still fighting with the sustain part. I think it's just a saw wave with some partials stacked on it and fed into saturation, but I can't really match the sound.
(at 2:24 you can hear it without other instruments/vocals)

I bet this is a preset in some synth. Maybe anyone knows this sound or a preset pack which contains it?
Thanks & Cheers!

Thanks very much!! Yeah definitley right direction. I think you nailed the voicing of the partials / notes. I think the original sound is kinda thinner with very outstanding mids, the highpass alone doesn't do the same. Maybe EQing is needed... It also has a strong "saw" feeling to the sound but much more lofi. I tried around a bit with distortion but it's all too digital sounding. Well well...
Again big thanks for your help! I will continue working on this

My hunch was that it's a pulse but after trying quickly it didn't sound right.
Using multiple layers might do the trick. But use a mono layer to make it slightly thinner and I think the detune was set to 2 or tree so changing that to 1 and even the stereo spread can be turned down.
I would use an EQ but try to do everything in one patch so have to use the built in filter.
A hint of distortion can sound pleasant but there isn't much if any.
A little bit of RC20 or izotope vinyl(free) will help give it that lo-fi sound
