Hey everyone,

so i finally finished an OSC track.... For some time now... I guess XD
In the last months I always started a new track, but was never really satisfied with it.... But to the looks of it this month it finally worked out
I decided to go with Sytrus, since I started using it recently and thought it sounds pretty decent. And I only used stuff that is included in FL Studio. So here's my usual 1980's retro synthwave thingy. I tried to go a bit more in the Italo disco direction. Hope you like it :P

Nice to see so many tracks this month !

Here's mine too :

Made in Bitwig using poly grid.
14 sounds made from scratch, with a total of 24 instances.
More details to follow !

Edit :
So I used this Challenge to explore the Grid, man I love this thing, you can go so much in details to adjust every parameter to adjust to your playing, what a pleasure !
Everything has been pretty much played live on my linnstrument then edited (the Arp part I recorded much slowly lol...)
In the Grid I tried to first reproduce a flamenco guitar note I recorded myself. I have to say Guitar synth patch are really challenging. Not that I wished a lot to used that sound really, but as an exercice, and to see what I can get from there. A few changes and I got that Harp and others I did not used in the end, good learning experience.
From that I got this strange almost acoustic music I really enjoyed making. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much ! Looking to listen to yours guys :phones:

so here are now more details on the plugins I used
Apqualizer 2
Fircomp
Kclip3
kHz transient Shaper
MSpectralDynamics
MTurboReverb
ValhallaVintageVerb
Panagement 2
Poly grid is used a lot for FXs too

On my master Chain there's
Apunmask
Tdl limiter 6 GE
MSpectralDynamics

And to mix with Headphones I used
Bluecat Re-Head
MFreeFormEqualizer
Bitwig's Convolution

Leaving it to the last minute as usual...

This month's effort is using Subtractive in Tracktion Waveform Pro 12. This is a 4 oscillator polysynth with drive, two filters in serial and a number of effects. It has fixed modulation routing but does offer four envelopes and four LFOs. All sounds are created from init. As the synth has a bunch of useable effects built in, not may external effects were used. Aside from ten Subtractive instances, the following plugins were also used:

dpMeter5
Gain3
KClip3
Span
Blackhole
TR5 Opto Comp
TR5 Master EQ-432
TR5 Tascam 388
TR5 Stealth Limiter
TR5 Metering
Scaler

MICHAEL JOHN (aka Mike777)

PSYN came with Cakewalk X3 and Sonar back in 2009 and is described as a 'Vitural Analog' synth that "models a full-featured subtractive synthesizer". It's a 32-bit DXi synth and does run in Cakewalk by Bandlab on my Win 7 64 bit PC, but does not run on a Win10 PC.

My Entry:
Cakewalk by Bandlab on Win7
PSYN II (12 instances)
Cakewalk BREVERB
BT Compressor CP25-3
BT Equalizer BQ25-3
Every instrument is PSYN II including the drums. And the delay.

For this track I used 17 instances of Subtractor which was the first and only synthesizer in Reason 1.0 back in 2001.

For reverb and delay I used Reason's DDL-1 and RV7000. For creamy long reverbs I used a free plugin by Airwindows named Galactic 64. On the masterbus I used Channev by Analog Obsession which is a free mastering plugin.

Total Instances: approximately 8 (Its modular, so what can you do  )
All Fx are mulab.

The Mulab patches can be found here:

My submission for OSC 167:
https://soundcloud.com/kylebenjamin/kyl ... al_sharing

-Synth-
ReaSynth (one instance. yes, one instance)

-Effects-
ReaEq
ReaComp
ReaXcomp
ReaDelay
ReaVerb
ReaVerberate
ReaPitch (formant filter only)
ReaFir
ReaLimit

This was an experiment to see if ReaSynth was at all useable. While it is rather basic synth, it turns out to not be totally worthless. I'll let my fellow OSCers decide if I made any decent use of it.

Notes to follow...

Additional notes:

I took advantage of the fact that ReaSynth has a separate sine wave generator, so that did double duty as bass and percussion (if I'm allowed to call it that). The rest was mostly a square wave with a modulated pulse width and then colored using the formant filter in ReaPitch, some more filtering with ReaVerb, a fair amount of EQ, and a boatload of automation (26 separate envelopes, if I'm counting correctly). There were the usual sends (reverb, delay) and about half a dozen others (a couple formant filters to create some panning, a homemade formant filter using ReaEQ, and a track with EQ/compression to beef up the bass).

In the end, I have no idea if this experiment worked. I can't tell if it's somewhat listenable or just a grating mess. Regardless, it was a learning experience.
