Anyone own a Waldorf Iridium?

I don't have an Iridium but I have a Quantum, which I like quite a lot. All of the different oscillator modes sound great and work well for the kinds of sounds I'm drawn to. I'm particularly fond of the sample playback and Kernel engines. The modulation system is incredibly deep but still easy to use.

Watched TV Sunday and saw that Hans Zimmer has a Quantum. I played on a used Quantum for a bit and am also strongly thinking of getting the Iridium (keyboard) in the coming months.
It is deep and flexible. I spent most of my time with the Resonator sound engine and was delighted by how many things I could send LFO control into. You can easily create sounds the likes of which you have never heard.

Well I got it. I have to say, I'm pretty blown away. I love everything about it. I was longing for something deep and complex that I could really dig into and learn as an instrument, and be able to do it outside of the DAW in a fluid and improv-orientated way.

This thing really delivers. I've already written several songs, just off the cuff when playing with it. So much more inspirational than your average soft-synth IMHO.

I also got an ASM Hydrasynth, and I had a Novation Bass Station II, and all three make a really good trio!

I tried an Iridium out when I went into my local shop for a second round on a Hydrasynth and although it's a nice synth, I don't personally think it is £2k nice. It's almost a bit too deep for hardware. The Hydrasynth has depth but the UI/UX is really fast and intuitive whereas the Iridium felt very cumbersome by comparison. Hardware for me, should be immediate and fun but the Iridium was neither, in the short time I spent with it at least. If however, I was longing for something to get really knee deep into and I had lots of time to do so, I would probably feel differently. I liked the sound and the build quality and the pads are a bit better than those on the Hydra Desktop.
