Yeah, I haven't had a chance to play with that yet, though d/led it already. The idea of shimmer inside VDelay is making me moist. I thought often about buying Shimmer, but now this has put that on the back burner even more.moxxi wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 12:17 pm Also new ValhallaDelay just got updated with new Shimmer presets, sounds fantastic.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend VShimmer, you will never regret it.kritikon wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 3:23 pmYeah, I haven't had a chance to play with that yet, though d/led it already. I often use VShimmer while working in Diva and the result is divine.

I still prefer the pitch shift on Replika XT, as it allows you to lock the feedback loop to keep the repeats at the same pitch instead of rising upwards. You can also set the L-R pitches independently. On this new RichPitch algo you get an awful combfilter type resonance on the delay if you just add some detune but keep the pitch at zero (with pitch mix engaged).
The new Supermassive algos sound great, I almost feel bad that he doesn't charge for the plugin.

His goodwill coffers must be bursting at the seams though.

I know, that this one excells with huge spaces, but does anybody tried to simulate small reverbs like "room", "drumroom" etc? If so, please share your presets, please. Thanks.

On one side there are no fix rules for a plugin's application, but I never thought of flying by car from one continent to another. Maybe it's because I have fear of flying...?!
Supermassive and small, a desert and snow, cat and mouse...
I agree, why not, even though there are hundreds of other options for room reverbs

Common misconception...
It actually does snow in many deserts.
And quite a few people have pet cats and mice in the same household.
As you said, there are no fixed rules.

I seem to remember there's some good smaller spaces (and other stuff) in this preset pack (which you can choose to download for free if you wish) - https://solidtrax.nl/product/earth-stars/

I've messed around with it and actually it does sound pretty good on small reverbs. I was messing about and it was the first I loaded up, then dialled it down as a drum ambience type thing and it worked really well IMO. Worked so well I didn't even change to a dedicated ambience reverb when finalising the track. As for presets, it's not that complicated a plugin. Just dial down the size and see for yourself, messing around with the Eq and density is mostly where you get character of rooms etc. If I couldn't buy any plugins and had to make do with feebies, I think I'd happily use Supermassive as a main reverb. Not perfect for real detailed rooms and spaces, as obvs it's designed for huge spaces...but it is still a superb reverb even made small.
