This just to convert audio files made on the fly into whatsapp into a usuable format for audio editing ?

If your DAW of choice doesn't support ogg format, then try one of the free audio editors out there, e.g. Ocen Audio: https://www.ocenaudio.com/

I use Awave Studio since a veeery long time. It supports pretty much ANY format that ever existed. And is an excelent sample instrument creator. If audio conversion is just what you want, you may want to try Awave Audio

Audacity does this. (I don't know if it has Batch Convert like Soundforge had, but that was really convenient.)

VLC can do this (in a batch too). So you don't even need an audio-editor for it.
