Just subtractivesimmo75 wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:33 pm Is this just subtractive or have they updated it to a 2023 standard?
Would be a shame if it’s just subtractive, when there’s so many options available already.

hysterical, how fast kvr'ers judge a new plugin, before it's released, before they've had a chance to demo it, or watch an intro video, etc...
here's my review of 'ant-man and the wasp: quantumania': it's exciting, altho not in some moments. many things happen, there are bad people. it doesn't end well (altho it does). i will not be seeing this movie now that i've read my own review

How very judgemental of you! HahafisherKing wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:41 pm hysterical, how fast kvr'ers judge a new plugin, before it's released, before they've had a chance to demo it, or watch an intro video, etc...

Seriously though, Fabfilter are expensive, and used to be in a league of their own, so for them to release a subtractive synth in 2023 seems a little underwhelming, and I’m a fan of their products.

i get it, really. but am still going to wait to hear it, see how it works, looks... also, NO ONE is taking my fabgfilter effects from me, i SWEAR by them (and sometimes at them)simmo75 wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:09 pmHow very judgemental of you! Have always loved Twin 2. Basic stuff but with a lot of modulation possibilities and it always sounded great. A modernized version with a scalable UI will be very welcome indeed. Twin 2 came out in 2009!

PhasePlant doesnt have MSEGsa9k1tp wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:33 pm Only Serum and Phaseplant have nailed the MSEGs. Hive would be a lot easier to work with synth if it had MSEGs like Serum. XLFOs in fabfilter plugins are also not good.

YES.
Oh god yes.
YES.
Don’t care if its only subtractive. Sometimes that’s all you need.
Also creamy fab fx built into it + its modulation system. Yes!

I suppose the thing about FabFilter is that they pick one function and then try to make it as deep and flexible as they can - so they don’t do several delays or reverbs, they just do Timeless and Pro-R, and they don’t do a multi-effects unit or anything idiosyncratic.
So it makes sense that instead of trying to make a workhorse synth they’d just try to do the best possible subtractive synth.

Now follows 10 pages pointless ranting about lack of bass, too much aliasing, it doesn’t do a Moog, blah blah

Almost. LFOs can be edited to create any pattern.Lbdunequest wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:53 pmPhasePlant doesnt have MSEGsa9k1tp wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:33 pm Only Serum and Phaseplant have nailed the MSEGs. No looping points and release phase like in Zebra though.

The thing where you can freely move points. These points snaps to grid and we can select noLbdunequest wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:53 pmPhasePlant doesnt have MSEGsa9k1tp wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:33 pm Only Serum and Phaseplant have nailed the MSEGs. . of xy grid lines. That is what I am talking about.
You may call them editable LFOs, I think they are also MSEGs, technically.

I believe, you may disagree with me, that Fabfilter should focus and spend energy more on the effects rather then on synths. ProQ3 and ProC2 definitely are in need of update and improvement. Timeless requires better GUI...and there is also space for a multi fx and analyzer plugin.

like any developer, they can do whatever they want. i'd like to see updates for some of the core plugins too, but am suffering in any way for a lack of updates. they'll do what they want, and need, and we'll benefit if and when. anyway looking forward to checking this outHcDoom wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:50 pm I believe, you may disagree with me, that Fabfilter should focus and spend energy more on the effects rather then on synths.
