I remember what a pompous ass he was in Pompeii. I'd find someone like him insufferable. His only solo album of his that I bought was Amused to Death, and I haven,t played it in 20 odd years. Morbid, misanthropic, too depressing.

there is no competition between the original and a cover version. i suppose, Waters wants to emphasize on the lyrics.
