Artist becomes successful and becomes unable to have any self critical thoughts: Film at 11. It's so funny to me that this type of thing happens so much, yet almost all artists are totally unable to avoid it. It's like you need some good childhood friend or sibling to be around you and say, "hey, stop the nonsense, I saw you pee your pants more than once." The only music artist that comes to mind that seemed to never become high on their own supply was David Bowie.

That's exactly it. we know what waters sounds like without the band, dark side could have been another pros and cons of hitchhiking had he gone solo
