Subwoofer meter2023-02-10T02:28:51+00:00Anyone know a way to see if my subwoofer is too loud for my speakers?
I'm looking for an app to help me, or do it for me
Thanks,

If I knew about an app I'd tell you. But this ain't rocket science.
Feed a sine sweep through the system, record that preferrably with a measuring mic. Don't have that? Then you can use your phone
Just look at the amplitude. It's not rocket science. If the woofer is too loud, you should see that.
Or rely on your ears. First listen to the sweep with woofer off. Increase volume until you cannot hear where woofer stops and nearfields start. Adjust to taste with critical listening to reference tracks.
Again, this is not rocket science.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. My MusicCalc is served over https!!
I followed the calibration instructions that came with my Presonus Temblor T10 subwoofer using pink noise and a sound-level meter app on my phone. Having done this a few times I could probably set the level pretty closely by ear but it was nice having the reference. I got the sub right when I was mixing my first album in a new room. The mastering engineer and pro engineer friends I consulted all said there was no weirdness in the low end.
I have my dual 15" subs set up about 6dB louder than the mains.
Contrary to what people will tell you, there's a certain degree of subjectivity and taste to monitoring.
I don't like working on "flat" frequency response nor do i make my best work on such systems.
