Another student of Darius Milhaud passes away. I generally thought of him as one who often got away with doing interesting things, melodically and harmonically, within much of the mainstream music he composed.

Pop music, in all the best ways to me. Sophisticated musically, still catchy, adult, melancholic, etc. Great catalogue. For a while there it was just an incredible run of songs.
