Europe ain't that small... if I drive East for 10 hours I'm still in Central Europe.

Edit: but yeah, if I really wanted to get killed, that certainly would be a real option.
If you are ever in Süddeutschland, I'll buy you a beer.

Not if I buy you one first! Where do you live? I'm in Freiburg tomorrow (visiting the Planetarium with my son). - i.e. I'm in the Southern part of the Black Forrest all the time...

Ah, I had no idea you live that close. A Stuttgart weekend is still on our bucket-list (for the Mercedes- and Porsche-Museums and the Wilhelma)... I was born in Heilbronn btw.

Vurt and Urs and me and a number of other KVR-members met in Stuttgart once to watch the gig of another KVR-member (Putte, who lives there too) - but that was a looong time ago.

it's weird though, you go there, it's really nice, strangers smile and say hello, very friendly.
then the news is filled with various attacks and murders.
ok, the last one was leigh, and even weirder, the guy that did the stabbing, is the one that died ...

The invitation is open. As of Spring, when we can sit outside. I have lots of toys. :D

Seems like quite a nice, pretty little town to me - it's strange: I read so much about this or that English town of that size being a real dunghole and yet the pics I see seem to hide it well...

just listening to John Prine's "Summer's End" (a song I absolutely adore) got me thinking again (as I said before here) how much the useage of pitch-correction is a mere personal, artistic choice and that's the end of it.

Here I think it is quite appropriate that they left John's voice as it is, warts and all. And the success of this quite recent (2020) song contradicts all the nay-saying in this thread (with claims that now everyone expects autotuned to death vocals and so every artist is forced into using it) and backs up my own claim that there is really room for everything in the market and it will be able to find its audience, as long as it manages to touch it in some way, for whatever reason this may ever be. Really nobody give a tiny rat's arse about him being properly off pitch here and there. The world is rich and varied really.

I don't think there are very many autotune "must use it" purists out there. The pro comments mostly involved the demands or expectations of the nodern pop music audience and the creative applications beyond hard tuning cliche effects. John Prine is an icon no doubt but he isn't competing with Billie Eilish, Drake , Justin Bieber in that space. There is most definiately room for traditional production wihtout autotune. I don't know who would argue against that. I've recorded singer song writers here who are quite limited musically but completely commited to their lyrics and the honesty of their delivery. No autotune gets used there. The pop music types want to sound like what they hear on their spotify playlists and that often means very controlled pitch stability. This isn't an argument, just an observation. Yes, there is room for all of it. The pop music space though is very heavily produced.
