well, i am still on the reaper train, and the more i use it, the better it gets. And it works on all major OS. I used to be a logic user, but apple as an os is getting more disgusting day by day. And the update terror of Windows I really hate. I am happy with linux mint. Maybe not as good as debian, but it works right out of the box. I installed a fast kernel, and Cinnamon desktop ist great. Linux has become great for music.
artie fichelle sounds natural

Sorry, I think there was a little confusion; you said no way to do it with a script, i said yes there is and used the term natively which there isn't strictly. With Reapack, scripts like this are just there and if it doesn't have a name slapped on it I forgot it may be 3rd party...a9k1tp wrote: Mon Feb 13, 2023 1:01 pm Yes, exactly this. If this is a native action, then why this script
Anyway, hope it helps, have fun...

I said it because I was unable to find something like this on google. And all I found was people discussing that there is no way to do this via script.GaryG wrote: Mon Feb 13, 2023 2:20 pmSorry, I think there was a little confusion; you said no way to do it with a script, i said yes there is and used the term natively which there isn't strictly. I finally found a recent post on reaper in which this script was mentioned: https://github.com/iliaspoulakis/Reaper ... ive%20grid
Then I saw your reply to my post and then.... !!!!
Do I have to explain all this?
Anyway, thank you very much for the help you provided me.

Has anyone noticed a problem with VST3 plugins since the last update?
Retrologue 2 no longer works. I can load it, and it is not dead, the little red Midi indicator at the bottom of the meter flashes when I hit a key, but there is no sound.
Since there was no Retrologue 2 update, I assume the problem is Reaper.

I had a different issue with version 6.75 but I could sort it out.Sawtooth Fairy wrote: Mon Feb 20, 2023 9:30 pm Has anyone noticed a problem with VST3 plugins since the last update?

Try 6.74 again and if it works use it until 6.76 is out.

Strange, I just noticed that the plugin does sound, but only when I play the virtual keyboard on the GUI. My Midi keyboard does not play notes, but as I said before, the red LED in Reaper signals that the Midi keyboard works.
With all other plugins the Midi keyboard works fine.
Very odd, I never had that problem before.

I think the guys on the Reaper forum could help you out faster and better. I don't know what it could be, other than the obvious issues like the midi channel or to reset all midi devices

For me the piano roll is the main thing I need for workflow. S1 has a great piano roll.Danilo Villanova wrote: Wed Feb 01, 2023 2:50 pm Reaper is at the same time extremely powerful and flexible while also being behind in a few things.
Razor edits are a fantastic addition as is the new thing that's being implemented now in the betas which I'm not allowed to discuss.
Both these things are already a part of other programs though and have been for a long time.
I'm switching to Studio One for now because there are certain things that it does better that I'm not sure will ever improve in Reaper. Chief among these are having a very nice piano roll, drum editor AND step sequencer. In Reaper, if you use the drum editor mode and you use one MIDI editor per project you will have to switch back to normal mode and back each time you open a new item.
Plus chord track, arranger track (region markers KINDA gets there), the best articulation manager ever, and a long etc.
Besides I've come to terms with the fact that aesthetics matter. I'm doing this professionally so I'm looking at my DAW all day and Reaper's GUI always made me a bit sad...
Will never stop using Reaper completely, since I know it like the back of my hand, and I'm confident that it will eventually catch up.
Also when comping takes, feature I like in Cakewalk is that it can edit/move take events on layers, which is incredibly useful. Cakewalk 'see's a take layer as a track, with the feature of promoting sections, as well as editing/moving them.
What other DAW's can edit/move take layer events like Cakewalk? I've been watching Reaper comping vids but can't find anyone showing Reaper can edit/move a layer section like Cakewalk.

How about improving audio editing. That'd be neat.

An Ableton Live kind of implementation would be nice.
