I like the sequencing on my Beatstep and Keystep pros, so the 2S is tempting. So maybe one teamed up with a Neutron and a West Pest?

At some point you're just doing low priced modular in the guise of semi-modular. Nothing wrong with that, but make sure that you don't really want modular. Personally, I'm not a fan of the inexpensive micro-synths unless they are really interesting. The Cre8 stuff is too special-function divey for me and, while you can get some interesting sounds out of it, it's still a very limited synth that you have to faff about with to get to all of the settings. I know that goes against the general consensus around here, but, I own some Cre8 Audio stuff, it's not as well built as the Behringer stuff.

Just seen Anderson’s selling new 2600s for £422 (albeit Blue!). Am I right that that’s a bit of a bargain?

That's nearly $300 less than in the US. :o

If I could get one for that, I would just buy it, right now.

Indeed. If you've got the dosh, that's better than a typical "second-hand" good deal.

I have watch a few 2600 walkthroughs and am sorely tempted. I have realised also that my SQ64 has Gate, Pitch and Mod outs on all 3 of its melodic tracks which presumably open up all sorts of sequencing/modulations possibilities.

A. That's a great price. Bargain!
B. The blue ones are special edition and usually sell for a little more than standard, so it's even better. Double bargain!

Even if you find you don't like it, you could probably sell it for no loss at that price.

Doesn't the Blue one have a real spring reverb in it too?

OK. So if I go for a B2600, what could I pair it up with to expand it’s possibilities?
(I know…I know…learn to use the 2600 first! )

Moog Grandmother... gives you a 'real' synth with keys and it also have a number of patch points to play with

Although, they both have a spring reverb... hmmm

Exactly. :tu: And aside from having a real spring reverb (versus digital in the black one), it can also act as a Midi to CV & Gate Interface, via it's USB in from computer, or 5-pin MIDI in, from any thing else. 8)

Get a grey B2600. Then you'll have a multicoloured 6-voice monster. Which still leaves you the standard version to make the full set and a rainbow 9-voice patchable behemoth. They'll all fit into a really tall rack that reaches the ceiling too. Then get a Moog to make it all shit. :hihi:
