Just a small tip - the original DX7 Rom's (1A to 2B) as well as the 12 VRC carts, and the TX81Z presets are all tagged and included in FM Lab by default (no need to import anything). However, because the Mediabay browser defaults to "Program" mode, You'll have to change it to "All Presets" to see them. Just thought I'd mention

With the new Tales library around 36GB. It downloads the vstsound files ready to use. So, other than the main program app (~700MB before install) download amount and install size are similar.

Does Halion 7 have arps and sequencers variety, which Falcon 2 have? I am just trying to decide which should i choose.
As far as i understand from videos and forum, Halion is better sounding and Falcon have more creative tools. Am i correct? (i wish i could demo both by myself
)
And what about CPU usage? Is it comparable?

I noticed this, I wish there was a way of defaulting it to "All presets" too. But if i open up a new project it goes back to program mode.PAK wrote: Thu Feb 16, 2023 6:09 pm Just a small tip - the original DX7 Rom's (1A to 2B) as well as the 12 VRC carts, and the TX81Z presets are all tagged and included in FM Lab by default (no need to import anything). It's all good now, but i'm thinking in a few months where i've forgotten such things are hidden.

It's got FlexPhraser which is part of the MIDI tool elements and their terminology for arps. I've not used Falcon but there's plenty of options in there, plus you can create your own user phrases.Stan Navi wrote: Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:08 pm Does Halion 7 have arps and sequencers variety, which Falcon 2 have?

Falcon is more a sample player with "engines". Halion grants you full access and management. I copuld´t work with Falcon. No comparison.Stan Navi wrote: Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:08 pm Does Halion 7 have arps and sequencers variety, which Falcon 2 have? I am just trying to decide which should i choose.

Restrictions. File Management. Sample Editing. Handling. I may be a little bit spoiled with these thing, but I´m just a HAL poweruser and absolutely fond of exporting, naming, slicing, moving layers around, also FX and just abuse the awesome modular structure that makes life easier and days longer!^^Sampleconstruct wrote: Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:33 pmWhat? The GUI (size/elements) is a big improvement on my 27" 2560x1440 screen. I don't have to set my Windows scaling to 125% anymore.
I hope they'll do the same for Padshop and Retrologue.
I also like the Home screen, for quickly making an instrument without first getting lost in the tree structure.
