Hey all.

We got a arpeggiator plugin out that we're offering for free for a while.

It's an arp that has a built-in mini synth, but can output MIDI into anything, and has all kinds of ways and means to create interesting patterns, including polyrhythmic and polymetric ones, out of-quantize... whatever you can think about.

There's also a MIDI file player included with a bunch of midi patterns + the ability to load your own.

Anyway, try it out, one copy per person is free (license forever).

Nice Arp...

One question... I'm not seeing how to sync to project tempo

It will always sync by default. Only in standalone mode you can type your own tempo (for now at least). I think we might add a “free” mode in the future.

Okay, when the project is not playing, then EON follows its own tempo. I was exploring without the project playing.

Hmm. Not bad for what it is, although I can see more features being added in the future. Although it's billed as an arp, it's missing conventional things like up, down, random, gate length, etc. It'll be cool if patterns changed while locked into a scale. The onboard synth isn't bad, actually. It's just severely limited in that there's no modulation of parameters, etc. It'd be cool if you could pan those oscillators, too.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

It has all of those - except for random. :) You can draw any variation of "up", "down", and "gate length" pattern you'd like. It's just not a one knob interface to create those patterns.
For example, to set the "gate length" you can just select all with the 'a' key and then Ctrl/Command + drag the ends to meet the right length in a non quantized way.

That is a way more accurate approach because it lets you control the length on a single step level, and not have a single gate length for all steps which is how traditional arps approach this. :)

Ah sorry I hit 'send' too quickly:

Patterns are locked into whatever input you have on. So let's say you're toggling between the 8 patterns and holding a C chord, none of the patterns will play anything different than a C chord.

The input source however isn't locked to a scale by default - but we have most scales like major, minor, pentatonic, dorian, etc included in the MIDI files, so that can be used as a scale lock of sorts.

Ah, thank you! We can definitely add pan to the oscillators! It's really only meant to be a basic synth so you can have some 'feel' for a pattern when composing - in real life you probably want to patch EON into a "real" synth...

When I read 3 activations per user does that mean challenge response for a free plugin?

There's no 'challenge-response' but yeah - there's a license file you need to download and drag/load into the plugin at startup.

Those 3 activations are of course yours forever (if you sign up to get them while the plugin is still free) - and you can clear activations from unused computers if you need that, from within the plugin itself - even if you don't have access to those computers.

Thank you so much.
Plugin is fantastic
An arpeggiator needs some synth.
I assume you are going to release a synth, as well? This year?

No synth yet (other than the built in mini-synth in EON of course) but... we have some pretty cool sound-making tools we will try to make available this year, even by the end of Q2 of this year if we'll if we'll make it in time. :)

Seems the pressure on Modalics for the randomizer was not strong enough to make it automatically into the new app

But really, an arp without randomizer

So I am sure it will be in the next bigger update like with Modalics.

Very good decision not to add a randomizer to support one's creativity to create your own ideas.
Be a randomizer yourself.
