Don't you realize that both are actually the same product with a slightly different GUI?
No I didn't realize that. Of course you must have done null tests to verify your assertion, right??
You would just be assuming this is the case, would you??
jens wrote: Tue Feb 21, 2023 12:29 am The reason it's not part of the fast bundle is that it is just a heavily cut-down version of the EQ so there would be absolutely no point whatsoever in adding it to the bundle.
If that's true, then I suppose that would make sense. I haven't used Fast EQ so I don't know that it is what you say it is. I hope you're not making this up off the top of your head.

I like the Fast bundle (except the reverb). Definitely worth the money if you don’t already have a few comparable… like at least one of the smart plugins (I have smart comp). I like the limiter a lot except for seemingly not being able to persist the volume comp setting.

There is one difference between Focusrite and sonible. Sonible requires iLok!

Sorry, not true, my Sonible stuff is working without iLok.

No, I don't have any sonible because of too big competency gaps!

Alexander told me so about 1,5 years ago, maybe they changed their registration policies, so I am obviously not up to date

Hey Folks:
I'm pleased that there's a thread here on the FAST Bundle. I decided to take the plunge and go with the "rent-to-own" plan for a pretty insane price. I was impressed with what I saw and heard.

I use Logic Pro. As I go through mixing my song, I tend to use the built-in Channel EQ to smooth out individual parts to avoid muddiness. I also use the built-in compressor with drums, and sometimes bass.

I can get comfy with the Fast Compressor, but my query is about the Fast EQ. In your mind, is it supposed to be a replacement to the channel EQ in Logic? In my mind, I"m afraid that if I do the usual cuts with Logic's EQ, then using Fast EQ could potentially do more than I wish for it to do.

Also, I welcome tips from others on using Fast Bundle in your mixes. I have used it sparingly so far, but the test runs I've done show promise and really saves me time.

Thanks!

Did somone compare the FAST reverb and limiter with the Sonible Smart counterparts? Any significant difference in results? Thanks in advance

Btw Sonnox VoxDoubler has been added to their hitmaker bundle

I am just hobbyist, but I put FAST plugins on channels or busses and Sonible (mainly) on master channel only. Sonnible plugins are in my opinion more advanced and more tweakable than FAST, therefore is for me useful for to put them on channels for fast workflow. But FAST plugins are great (except of reverb - I don't know why, but I don't like it), don't be fooled by the GUI. It's easy to switch later in mix from FAST to Detailed mode to shape the sound you want.

I checked the bundle about a year or so ago, and I thought FAST did a better AI job [at that time], IMO. Haven’t checked recently though, now that EQ4 has come out.

Now these are on the chopping block. From the email I just got:
We have discontinued the FAST plugins to focus on releasing other music making tools and other partnerships. We do not plan any further updates for the FAST plugins.

It is no longer possible to purchase any FAST plugins or the FAST Bundle. FAST plugins will continue to be supported until 30th April 2026. From 1st May 2026, we expect the plugins to continue working, however we cannot commit to fixing any new issues.

Just to confirm, you have a full license for the FAST plugins you have purchased and will not be charged for them again. We recommend you install and activate the FAST plugins on your music making computers now.
The last line sounds like the activation servers will go poof in time, as they did for all the older Focusrite and Novation plug-ins.

Post

I wrote to them to ask about that. Pretty irritating. If they're going to kill them off, at least change the activation process for users that have these.
