How do you recover the midi files?
How do you get the presets without the effects?
Thank you very much
Hey!
1. What do you mean by to recover the MIDI files?
2. Do you mean bypass the effects in the internal synth presets? There's a second page that lets you control the filter, ADSR and delay, I'm explaining about this at around 9:40 in the tutorial video (linked in the original post).

You can also turn off the synth completely by clicking the button next to the word "Synth", that will also remove it from the CPU.

Just downloaded and installed - it's great. The built-in synth is great for demoing and creating basic Arp patterns. Thank you for providing this free VST.

I'm in Canada and was able to download and install without any issues.

In traditional arps, usually patterns are something "up and down", or maybe 16 steps of a fixed time sequencer. In those arps, your only way to get them to sound interesting/with variation is by using random.
An arp will have variations based on the changing notes you hold. Arps often have an "As Played" mode so if I play C, D, F, G it plays them in that order. And if I play C, D, G, F it plays them in that order and I can switch in realtime. And if the arp remembers velocity, I can have a lot of user controlled variation in realtime.

My favorite Arp is the one included in Bitwig. It is fairly simple but it responds to MPE and converts per note pressure to velocity so it has so much expressive realtime control.

EON doesn't do classic arpeggiation. It is more a step sequencer with some fresh and fun ideas.

Hi
Thank you for your feedback.
Maybe I misunderstood some of the comments.
I thought we could export midi files of Eon Arp patterns in our DAW...

Post

I get the Beat Scholar manual from the "download manual" button. The page and picture says EON-arp.

Well - it can't export MIDI files but it does send MIDI out that you can record into a MIDI channel, output into a synth, etc!

You're very much spot on with your analysis. We chose to look at creating arp patterns from a different view, which just like you say is useful for other kinds of ideas!

That's annoying! Where's that button you clicked on? I checked the button inside the plugin and on the wesbsite and it took me to the EON-Arp manual, but maybe there's a misbehaving button somewhere?

Anyway, just hit "F1" inside the plugin. :)

It can absolutely be fixed: do you mean that it doesn't save the size when you load the same saved song, or that it doesn't remember from a previous song/track?

Maybe this step for step description can make you understand.

Logged in with Google

Clicked on the download icon on the plugin picture, to the left.

Got to this page

They are fixed it seems…

Does Modalics have a play feature in the stand alone version ? I can't seem to get the stand alone to 'play' the pattern. Haven't tried the VST yet.

Sure! The midi player (on the lower left of the UI, under "CHORDS") - has a button on it labled "Play" if you click it, it will start playing one of the built-in midi files.
You can click anywhere on the file name to open the drop down menu and try out some chord sequences.
...or use the left/right arrows :)

Downloaded and tried. Really nice standalone arp.

Only feedback I have is that it would be great to have the saved MIDI Chord Files be accessible via MIDI just like the Pattern Snapshots are. Perhaps assignable into a second set of slots right below the Pattern Snapshots slots.

I agree with some of prior sentiment here that the value is in the arp, not the synth, and that's where any further development should be. This is money arp and great to stack with arp-less synths.

Otherwise great job on this one!!!!

Thanks for this brilliant plugin! I'm looking something like Phrasebox, and this is exactly what I need. And it's free! In reaper I have custom action to export plugin midi out in 1 click, so exporting midi file isn't a problem for me.

This thing is amazing, goes toe to toe with venomode phrasebox and chthulu (my favourite arps, that are oriented towards performance, improvisation and phrase arpeggiation). The manual is also really good and engaging, and the GUI is attractive, compact and resizeable. Love it, will demo beat scholar which looks like it brings some fresh ideas to euclidean style beat making.
