They have some great plugins and so far they haven't pulled any "WUP" nonsense. All the plugins I own from them work just fine year after year without having to pay $200+/year.
That said their marketing and constant sales get really tiring. I already own all the plugins I want from them so I have no interest in buying more or paying for a subscription. I don't think I've paid over $30 for any of their plugins since they were all bought during one of their many "once in a lifetime" sales.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

There is a lot of misunderstandings about PA. Many folks love to hate on them, because of their business strategies, which is understandable. The original prices are absurd and actual value of their products is about 10% of those numbers. And those prices come on constant sales.
Some consider it fun, because it's not like with Waves, that they put 30$ price on everything and calling it a sale (with a different name each time). The products that are on sale varies from day to day and a discount ammount varies as well. So you need to keep track and have some luck to get the best deal.
It's fun for many, some are tired of it and started to dislike or even abandon PA.
BUT
The misunderstanding because of that is that their plugins are just as shitty as their businnes strategy which is not the case actuall. They have top quality plugins, some among the top in their game (Big AL for example is outstanding).
So I would encourage y'all to don't associate company's politics with quality of their products. (to some extent it's part of the product, but as marketing goes - it doesn't influence quality)

Brainworx and Waves both used to be considered two of the absolute top developers, and they had the same high prices without the constant sales.
Next up will be UAD. Just wait a year and they'll have
ULTRAMEGABOOM
sales, too. The laws of physics and economics agree: no one can defy gravity forever.

Exactly! Lots of great PA plugins at an insane price if you know what you are looking for. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of:serge wrote: Mon Feb 20, 2023 4:08 am PA has some really great plugs if you take the time to cut through the clutter. ADPTR utilities, DS Audio Thorn Synth, can’t go wrong with any of the Unfiltered Audio stuff, some Brainworx stuff like crispytuner, bx limiter True Peak, bx digital v3. They continue to put out high quality stuff. Some plugs are CPU hogs though, like DS Audio Tantra. When you grab this stuff on sale, like the current buy 2 $30 get 2 free, with an average price of $15 per plug it feels like a steal. But for me the big issue is sifting through hundreds of plug-ins to find something I like. That’s why I wouldn’t ever buy their bundle. I’d be most trying to figure out which EQ to slap on.
Townhouse Bus Comp (great SSL flavor)
DSM3 (wizard plug)
All the ADAPTR stuff
All the Unfiltered Audio stuff
Shadow Hills (same code as the UA version)
Same league as Waves IMO which is also underrated these days.

PA plugins are often re-sold, because people find out that they don't like using them after a while or they find better alternatives.
You can get good quality shoes cheap at the sales and bad quality shoes cheap at the sales, that's comparing Waves to PA.
PA quite often tried to copy Waves, but never reached the quality or success, Waves is always the winner.
Bass Mint vs RBass
SSL console emus
Waves Reverbs are many times superior to
any PA reverb, same with delays.
Need a comp with character? I mean comps that can be used in a mix and add a special colour. I could name 5 Waves comps immediately. Good luck finding a suitable PA comp.
And many more examples.
Must be a joke to think PA might be even close to Waves.

Kind of funny conclusion from someone who obviously doesnt have any experiences with PA, if at all. The Neold and UA stuff alone, is reason enough to check out some of their Catalogue.

Yeah right, I only had some 1year subscription experience, not enough time, completely agree.
As a painter you want to add some grey clouds to the blue sky, but no matter what you do, the sky remains completely blue, that's like trying to add colour with Neold comp, great plugin indeed, oh wait, the painting has some holes all of a sudden, well, at least some effect.

If you are not able to add color with a Neold plugin and prefer Waves for that, maybe 4Chan would be a better option for you.

Nothing wrong with PA. Try them yourself and decide. Some great stuff in their catalogue. Same with Waves. Just don’t buy anything until it’s in a sale.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Plugin Alliance still hasn't posted the Lindell Audio Apple Silicon versions of anything but the TE-100 and SBC/MBC. I had to signup for the MEGA BUNDLE trial to get access to the native M1 betas of the Lindell plugins I've bought.
That's not OK.

I was briefly pissed off after seeing how someone was able buy one of their plugins for $15, then I did the math and realized I paid the same amount.HAL76 wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 10:24 pm The people who hate them most have probably paid the full price one day while the people who love them most have maybe never tried an other cake *ROFL*
Otherwise I eat all the cake.

I have to say I went on the site and the stuff they have is okay, but I get the weird feeling that all the stuff is the same architecture with different GUI's.
